I am by no means a 'gun nut', though I do own one. It is registered and I went to training in its handling, storage and use. I have used many types of fly swatters in my more than a half century on this earth and this is much more effective, a lot less messy and a shit ton more fun.
Plus, the carpal tunnel has made the swatter a painful option. And simple table salt is still one of the cheapest staples in anyone's pantry.

But it seems even worse to me. The Baby only wants one thing--the cool kid, Vlado, to think he's cool. So he will do and say whatever Vlado tells him, and he doesn't want to make Vlado mad, because then Vlado won't like him. It's that infantile. It's that simple. He couldn't give a shit about the country, or whether the country's security is in danger--it's not that he doesn't want to hear about it, or hasn't heard about it--it's that HE DOESN"T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT IT. He ONLY cares about himself and if Vlado thinks he's a big man.
He has been 100%, 100000000000% played by Vlado and is still being played by Vlado and that's what he can't hear. Because it destroys his malignantly narcissistic ego like a breath of wind on a house of cards. He is nothing. He is sound and fury, signifying nothing. A madman on the street corner. What is actually horrendous is how many people are enabling him.
Although it would make sense that that would be his entire takeaway from LBJ's presidency and vast legacy of social safety nets and civil rights: HE MADE POOPY WHILE PEOPLE WERE TALKING TO HIM HA! HA!
Just to remind everybody, it has been nearly 30 years since a Republican was elevated to the Presidency by winning the popular vote. Somehow, it has been an even split in number of terms occupied by each party since then.
