That gum you like is going to come back in style! Donald Trump won Washington's Republican primary Monday night, picking up at least 40 delegates, which leaves him just under the majority needed to clinch the nomination. Or as they'll keep saying on cable TV political shows, it looks like an uphill climb for the "Never Trump" movement. Hillary Clinton also won Monday's Washington Democratic primary Monday night, picking up absolutely nothing, because Washington is freaking weird: the state already chose its Democratic delegates in the caucuses held on March 26, but there was a primary anyway, possibly for bragging rights. Bernie Sanders
Not true, I tended to vote for Democrats in the general while my registration was independent. I did switch eventually because I moved to Maryland and it is so heavily democrat that primaries tend to decide which candidate will hold office rather than the general.
But...but, BernieBros keep telling me that Bernie isn't like those other politicians who are just there to win, that he actually cares! What am I supposed to believe now?!
Except for the part where caucuses are usually held in the evening and require a commitment of several hours, which tends to affect minorities disproportionately if they are night shift workers, have multiple jobs, kids and cannot find a sitter, or use things like public transportation that stops running before the caucus is over. Oh and theres no other option to have their voice heard except to show up to the goddamned caucus
But please, do go on about how caucuses create fair representation.
I voted in the Washington Caucus for Bernie, but Clinton in the nothing-burger Primary. I thought about voting for Cruz, just because. But I couldn't make myself do it. And Wurman is right, the Repugnants have put up fake dems in our primaries to try and screw us. They luckily haven't succeeded.
On Sunday night, John Oliver covered the insanity that is the completely superfluous Washington Dem primary, & mocked it mercilessly. Those of you who haven't already watched it should look for it on YouBoob.
Seriously? Instead of voting for policies, you vote based on whether someone's supporters hurt your fee-fees? That's pretty childish. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

So on a Friday at 4 PM

But neither side can win the WA primary.

Uh. You know that Sanders won Washington by about 72%, & got all the delegates, right?
Me too. Also, I didn't want to waste a stamp.
Yep, we had a dance party and discussed it.
