This fucker This week, we told you about a REALLY NICE Dubya-appointed judge in Texas, who issued a nationwide injunction against enforcement of the Obama administration's new guidelines on How To Be Nice To Trans Kids. We noted that he didn't rule on the merits, but simply was being a shithead, complaining that Obama didn't follow the proper protocols in issuing his guidelines, and besides, he's pretty sure Texas and all the other states feeling butthurt about their Sincerely Held Religious Beliefs will probably be able to defeat Obama in court.
If I call myself a medical doctor then deny care to everyone because of my religion, to say nothing of the fact I never attended medical school and don't have a license to practice...will Texas file a lawsuit defending my right to be paid anyway?
So, if this comes to pass, will it mean that any religious belief will effectively be a free pass to ignore any laws a person wishes? 'Cause that seems to be the trend for conservatives after Hobby Lobby...
Because their god is the One True God. Duh. Also, this stuff is really good for elections in conservative regions. And donations, both political and to churches. In some areas, it truly is a win-win situation for everyone. Except the sinners, of course.
Can't. Just like with so many of our anti-discrimination laws, there is a religious exception to mental illness diagnosis. Specifically a behavior or belief has to cause a sufficient problem in the client/patients' subculture - which, if they only hang out with other Christians, is never going to happen.
You give them a finger, they'll take your arm, and then pull you down whole. That's why there shouldn't be any compromise to appease religionists, because they don't do compromise, they do goal advancing.
Worse than that. They could want to use their "sincerely held beliefs" to affect my care, for example, by denying me a blood transfusion, or refusing to treat people who aren't christians. Not that they should be privy to our own "sincerely held beliefs," but I wouldn't be surprised if that's their long goal.

"Too" ignorant, not "to"
The Satanic temple is working on it.

But then...you might sin, and they cannot allow that.

The medical care in 1 in 6 hospital beds in America is decided by the Catholic Church either through ownership of the hospital or partnerships.
Sleep good tonight.

You mean like "conscience" clauses for doctors and pharmacists when it comes to any sort of birth control?
Half of America is either Catholic or Southern Baptists. The closer-to-sane Christians barely top ten percent in aggregate.
Like Trump, God likes the uneducated..
Well that's even worse! What good is knowing everything if all you have to impart said knowledge to are a bunch of dolts?

Sounds like old Jason wants to send you on a wild goose chase. The Republicans you're describing? They're no longer Republicans.
Somewhere a Southern Baptist is reading that, pumping his fist in the air and saying, "For the WIN, BABY!"
