Erica Garner, the anti-police-violence activist, has been declared brain-dead. A new mother of a four-month old baby -- named Eric, for her father, who was choked to death by New York city cops for selling loosie cigarettes without a license -- she suffered a massive heart attack this week. The
Fortunately, we have a government agency whose job it is to collect data like this. If the author can provide a citation to a statistic presented as fact that convincingly contradicts the CDC study, I'll retract the accusation. https://www.cdc.gov/reprodu...
The funny thing is that I've been reading articles here since 2008. Our viewpoints are probably substantially similar. All I did was ask some clarifying questions about stats presented as fact, and I've been called a racist, a troll and now a "sea lion". This is exactly what the Right does when asked to justify their views. Congrats, YOU are part of the problem.
Yes, but their peers of other races are equally poor. Racism is much less prevalent. After growing up on military bases for most of their lives (until 17 & 13 respectively), my children of colour have been stunned coming back to the US to live. Also, military members tend to be much less physically unfit than the general population. Children of military personnel have at least one parent employed, and if they are lucky enough to live overseas of on a US Base with a DoDEA school have some of the top public education in the country.
Don't even get your point about their poor peers. Does being poor as part of a rainbow coalition make it any better? Racism is much less prevalent = what? A dram versus a 1/2 cup? Lighter racism is still racism. And we must have different operating definitions of racism: I mean something that is systemic not prejudice,. I am guessing your "children of colour" are not black or you would have noted such. (Side note of online people wanting you to conclude they/their children are black is that they will never actually type black or African American; it's nebulous and left up to the reader to interpret. Not spelling it the American way is just extra.)
Less unfit? Is that like less racism? Poor people eat poorly and their health and appearance reflect that. And you do get that one can have two employed parents and still be poor, right? Like access to healthcare, education can be uneven and connecting to the local culture is greatly dependent upon the parents wanting to venture off base/expose them to it. When did military life become some wonderland?
What are you accusing her of lying (being purposely wrong) when data like this is difficult to collect and often reported differently?
Sorry to disturb your groupthink
Why would those not be issues?
Hey, HEY, I am doing bad things to at least 3 white men's daughters on a regular basis.
So there. :D
For some people.
I'm more sorry for her. He's also verbally abusive, and we all know what the next step is.
You are correct.
Absolutely horrible.
So long as they are of age and willing, good for you!

You pull the Troll card just as easily as the alt-right pulls the Snowflake card. Congrats.
I'm not?

Courageous.
