Just ate there today and noticed a Jesus-verse on the burger wrapper. But despite that, I will be back...

Dammit. Well then again I was at a Chili's in Oxford, MA tonight and heard the white teenager behind me ask what carnitas were and then what enchiladas were. I was trying not to turn around and ask him if he was from the 1950s

Well, then they were blatantly and without any ambiguity breaking the law. As a quick google might tell you. http://webapps.dol.gov/elaw...

Thanks for the legal cite. This law was passed in 1963, which was certainly before when this happened. And this was no small "mom and pop" place, so they certainly knew better.

Maybe the servers got at least one or two shifts on the weekends or holidays with great tips, so it averaged out?

This was the place where I was hired (part-time) because another employee fell down the stairs. When they got better, they cut back my hours to 4 per week.

When I found another job, I called in the morning of my shift. "You're really putting us in a bind with this late notice. We won't give you a good reference"

Hahaha. Like I needed a reference from these jerks?

I don't know. All I know is that, as stupid as it sounds, I like having my weekend being "Saturday, Sunday", rather than " Monday, Tuesday" like most food workers. And being able to not work on summer holidays....

I like that he used "business-speak" and sounded like both a profit-concerned owner AND a reasonable person. Maybe he can influence some of the less reasonable and more inhumane types to consider raising the minimum wage while still focused on their wallet.

SMART BOY! What part of 'small business ' franchise do neocons not get? People need to be able to afford to buy your slab of BHT between overly processed flour biscuits if you expect them to buy your crap. Folks do not step off their yachts to buy a Big Mac, deal with it.

I had a sonic shake in August 05 in Kansas City and have dreamt about another since. Alas, no sonic near Calgary.

Well, if you're ever back in Kansas City, give me a shout. I'll meet you at the Sonic of your choice and treat you to a shake--but only after 8 pm. I never pay full price; it's my personal credo. P.S. This summer they're rolling out what they're calling "Master Shakes" with flavors like Bourbon Brown Sugar, Wildberry & Lavender and Dulce De Leche. BAM! I just went up a whole pant size.

Omg. You've killed me. I am dead. Bourbon brown sugar sounds amazing.
