Announcing tomorrow. Tour starts tomorrow—in Philadelphia.

Seems pretty obvious who the pick is.

My money is on Shapiro.

My ears told me to tell you to GTFO. In stereo 😱

This is probably well-known except for me, but I just read that she is planning an email and text announcement to supporters ahead of the general public announcement.

Herschel: “Is it me? I put my phone on mute on weekends. So, call again if I didn’t pick up. Also, do you know if they validate parking here? I took an Uber but I’d still like to know.”

She'll definitely need someone who's an expert on the werewolf/vampire question.

She is going to stun the world by picking Joe Biden for VP

I kinda love that.

Alternatively, I've proposed Ritchie Torres of New York (he's 36, barely legal) because he's not just gay like Pete, he's also Latino! Let's push all the MAGAheads buttons!

This is a 2-hour old tidbit on the CNN.com live feed. Grain of salt, and all that:

Vice President Kamala Harris had not made a decision on her vice-presidential running mate as of Monday morning, a source familiar with the process tells CNN, as the Harris campaign is getting ready to unveil that choice in a matter of hours.

The decision is expected to be made later today, and once it is made, the vice president would inform a small team of top advisers – and of course, her chosen running mate.

While that is the general expectation on timing, sources cautioned that the decision is ultimately Harris’ to make and Harris’ alone – and if she needed more time, the final decision could slide into tomorrow.

Harris and her new running mate will appear at a joint rally together in Philadelphia tomorrow evening, before hitting a series of additional cities in battleground states the rest of the week.

Over the weekend, she interviewed in-person Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly.

The Harris campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Republican John Dick Kasich being asked to opine about Kamala's VP choice. He dismissed Walz, said he was the choice of progressives. He thinks it will be Shapiro or Kelly, but his money is on Shapiro because if we lose Pennsylvania, we'll lose the election. Thanks, Dick. He also wanted to let everybody know that he was a potential VP pick at one time (FUCKING YAWN, ASSHOLE!). First, I don't think we're going to lose the election, Pennsylvania or not. Second, STFU. Third, stop bringing this guy on MSNBC.

SHADDAP

I just need one credible person say to his face

"WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR OPINION. GOODBYE."

Agree...the way he said "Progressive" was dripping with derision....

That confirms my favorite is Walz.

I love him. He basically told the GOP in his state who opposed free lunch for all the kids to go F themselves

Why does it have to be some milquetoast white man? Pick a woman and let ladies lead.

The Daily Show explained that she needs a man with her in the Situation Room so that when she has an idea, he can repeat it louder a few minutes later, and then the Joint Chiefs will hear it and say, what a great idea!

I'm afraid you might be right, even though that makes me feel about the same way as my comment above about Shapiro. But Harris winning is more important than anything else right now, so I can live with a white man.

If we're going to accept the superficiality of it all (and a little misogyny and antisemitism too) then I say go with the TALLEST white guy. History shows that is an advantage. So must be someone at least 6 inches taller than JD Vance. I like Fetterman, and he's from Pennsylvania to boot!

Jay Inslee has a fantastic record as governor of Washington, and he's pretty tall, too!

He's sexy and fights climate change

I adore my governor but I'm hoping for a Cabinet spot for our Jay, just as soon as we get uber-nerd and chessmaster Bob Ferguson safely into the governor's mansion. We are heckin' blessed out here (including with future Lt. Gov. Denny Heck!)

I’m good with that. I think the secret is to not pick someone who has strong views on the Middle East since there’s no winning side. Focus on an issue that the under 30 group all agree on, the environment.

For the love of all that is holy, it better be Tim Walz, unless he's secretly been running a puppy mill.

Expand full comment

I think Shapiro's style seems closer to Harris than Walz, (who's funnier and more aggressive, and I'd love to see him as VP). However, I am often wrong and she has to pick someone she's completely comfortable with.

This was how TFG was "supposed" to announce his own VP choice, building up speculation and tension before the RNC convention. Instead, he blew his load early and announced the national disappointment known as Couch Fucker.
