(esp after OT Trevor Noah convinced me to look at the videos and the cop who pulled him over seemed to lose his shit even as Philando Castille was trying to comply. Was he on speed? Did they tox screen him?(the cop, I mean.))

(I think Costanza's 'amusement park' woulda been less horrifying to see.)

Like what... 15? 20?

That should be possible. Build a Starbucks and they will come.

Oh I had a whole bit on Mandan I left out. One of my friends out there was from Bismarck - from listening to him, Mandan seemed like something of a cross between a a prison camp and a bad rendition of Deliverance. Quite the rivalry there I must say. Needless to say I took it with a grain of salt. I mean a 100% teen pregnancy rate seemed a bit far fetched. He might have agreed with your sentiments as well if not for the first run in with Minnesotans invading across the Red River, though. I would surmise he might believe even now that the line of demarcation was really about mid-way across that river. I have no reason to think otherwise.

They DID have a school, but the population of those tiny towns keeps shrinking so the schools keep consolidating. I think any kids in that town go to Gildford, the next town over, for school.

Havre's not THAT small! In fact, it's basically the biggest "city" on the Hi-Line! (I'm from there too, although I got out thankfully!) They definitely DID issue birth certificates but it was another era, so your baptismal certificate could stand in for one because back then/there they'd take Jeebus's word for it just as much as the government's, I guess. (My mom was born in a town half the size of Havre in the late 50s, and she definitely has a birth certificate.)

Everything you say about your stepdad sounds about right for Havre. I know some good people who still live there, but...plenty of those types too.

Yeah, I gathered that is what happened. I was just curious if it was still a school today, since it seems like such a tiny town.

That makes sense.

The four cylinderical tanks are aboveground storage tanks for gasoline, diesel, dyed diesel (so Farmer Brown doesn't pay the road tax for fuel because it's tough being a farmer) and ethanol. Now I can't state this with 100% certainity because the tanks are not identified, which is a violation of the Montana State Fire Code (fuck regulations, we're farmers and we know more than you), lack secondary containment in case of a spill (fuck your fancy containment thing because Donald Trump is killing the EPA), and I also know none of the tanks have a pressure relief device to protect the responding firefighters (Farmer Fred says I'm sorry your daughter was killed in the Line of Duty protecting Kremlin, here's a $100 for her funeral).

So yeah, I know Kremlin, MT, Dime Box, TX, and Oolagah, OK, all Trump towns, and most of the old folks love Medicare and Medicaid, hate regulations, taxes, black and brown persons, but love guns, Jesus, and farm subsidies.
