You know you now must make a drink called The Goatfucker!

> Always use the clear stuff; dark crème de cacao is clear cacao with brown food coloring. When you use crème de cacao in moderation, it doesn’t read as “chocolate.” Instead, it provides an earthy sweetness that’s entrancing in all sorts of cocktails.

Hooper, you will be disgusted / amused to hear that I used to take office-vending-machine hot-chocolate and add a splash of DeKuyper creme de cocoa. The result tasted like a melted Tootsie Roll, *and* *I* *loved* *it.*

(Other brands of creme de cacao did not have the same effect. 🤷‍♂️ And now DeKuyper's website doesn't show any of their cremes, just a bunch of bottled cocktails. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️)

God you make me want a little stocked bar, and a drink that tastes like bananas foster is the best idea I've ever heard. For someone who doesn't really drink, but would enjoy a little something sweet and not too strong now and then, what half dozen bottles of stuff would you recommend? And will they all last years on the shelf, or that's sherry in particular?

"This equation—testosterone = aggression = combat power—is not clearly backed by scientific study. For starters, unnecessary testosterone treatment can be associated with a host of health problems: cardiac risk from heart muscle damage, risk of blood clot, higher cholesterol and liver disease, mood swings, and more. Many of these concerns need to be monitored even when testosterone is within healthy levels.

And, some experts are calling for more research on testosterone’s impact on behavior before doling it out to soldiers. “If I were a general, or if I were in some version of command where I knew the people underneath me had been altering their testosterone levels, I would want to know: How does that affect their decision making?” Dr. Tom Hildebrandt, a psychiatrist at Mount Sinai in New York, told the New York Times.

Hegseth’s effort is part of a larger recent trend of normalizing testosterone use among cisgender men and women, easily available to those with the funds at “wellness clinics” around the U.S. (even as its use is being vilified and denied to transgender patients) for things like better gains at the gym. But it also tells a much older story, a “web of direct claims and indirect associations that circulate around testosterone” which, according to Rebecca Jordan-Young and Katrina Karkazis, the authors of 2019’s Testosterone: An Unauthorized Biography, “weaves folklore into science.” This mythologizing, the authors argue, “frames social issues as a matter of the chemicals functioning inside individual bodies, leaving scant room to consider power asymmetries, structural arrangements, or histories.”

In other words, our ideas about testosterone’s link to inherent violence are largely a myth."

Step 1: Slip Trump a copy of the 1951 Defense Agreement, but with the name changed.

Step 2: Describe it in the most favorable light possible, since he won't read it anyway.

Step 3: Trump goes on "Truth Social" and proclaims himself a genius negotiator.

I have lived in Massachusetts most of my life and have never fucking *heard* of 'The Big E'

I guess it's a big deal state fair which happens in the western part of the state. . . the *really* western part. I don't get out that way but it's weird to have never even heard of it.

"Eastern States Exposition"–https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_States_Exposition

"The Eastern States Exposition, branded as The Big E, is an annual fair in West Springfield, Massachusetts. It opens on the second Friday after Labor Day and runs for seventeen days.

It is billed as "New England's Great State Fair", the largest agricultural event on the eastern seaboard and the fifth-largest fair in the nation.[2] The Big E is inclusive of all six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont."

Don-Don can face your economic, health, education, rights and cultural problems he has exacerbated. He can face the energy and food shortages he has exacerbated. He has no problem facing his destabilizing NATO, encouraging Putin and Un. He faces the trade chaos he has engendered with aplomb (yes, it ends with a 'b'). But he simply cannot, will not face the fact that he is the record-breaking number one fuck-up of all time.

Feelin' lucky?

My son took Spanish through school. And he worked in kitchens for a long time. In the Twin Cities, there are a lot of Ecuadorians in restaurants, no idea why.

He's a bit nervous to use his Spanish in settings that aren't very blue-collar. He learned a lot of his "Kitchen Spanish" from the other guys and he isn't 𝟏𝟎𝟎% sure all the words mean what the guys told him they meant.

Like, he thinks it means, "I'm not sure that's done yet," but every other Spanish speaker not working in a restaurant might hear...well, something I shouldn't type out even here.

Yes, I think I remember that.

I have no questions about why they left. I was a little surprised to discover how many of them wanted to get away far enough to make it to 45° North latitude.

It was probably the usual thing. One guy takes a wrong turn at Albuquerque, finds an ok spot and tells everyone else, and then there's a movement.

This is a lie:

***

President Donald Trump announced Friday that the United States has reached an agreement with Denmark and Greenland granting it "permanent control over security, and all other needs" on the Arctic island, a characterization that neither Copenhagen nor Nuuk had immediately confirmed.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the arrangement gives the United States "the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland" and described it as an "Infinite Life" agreement with no expiration. He said no U.S. adversary could establish a base, maintain a military presence, or make sensitive investments on the island "without our express written approval," and that the deal carries "NO COST" to the United States.

"For over 100 years, Presidents have known the strategic importance of Greenland, but NONE of them were able to do anything about it," he wrote, adding that the administration would "immediately begin the process of developing a large Military presence in the appropriate part of Greenland."

***

The US can already put as much military equipment on Greenland as they like under treaties negotiated by goddamn Eisenhower.

As for the rest of it, no, Greenland surrendered none of its sovereignty when it comes to investments.

He's going to start a war with NATO, accidentally or not, and all Congress will do in response is come up with a case of the concernds.
