WKRP Thanksgiving turkey giveaway.

Tecolote's avatar

Thanks, Hooper, for providing some blessed relief from the rerun columns.

Matthew Hooper's avatar

This was a rerun. :)

Tecolote's avatar

It was welcome anyway.

Time to go. Everyone have a good day. I'll know if it died because of the horns blowing and people dancing in the streets.

SkeptiKC's avatar

Cat the Ripper has sussed out how to open the drawers in the bathroom vanity and remove their contents onto the counter and bathroom floor.

Until he learns how to put stuff BACK the bathroom door must remain closed.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

My Viggo figured out that if he bounced the food cabinet door he could get it open and pull the food out. I had to put heavy velcro on it to keep him from doing that.

paperlesstiger's avatar

There is a weird dichotomy where people want to vote for conservative reps but don't really like conservative policies. That could be awkward with their constituents.

Old Man Yells at Cloud's avatar

That is what their constituents want but voting for the conservative is more important to them than having government polices that help them

Republicans convincing a large bloc of the American public that their party is the one most suitably identified with classically American virtues (hard work, self-reliance, piety, etc.), when their policies and the characters of their politicians are the opposite, has been one of the most successful branding operations of the 20th century.

TootsStansbury 🇺🇦's avatar

Are there any though? Don’t they all shamelessly bend the knee to their orange Hitler?

Martin Shobe's avatar

Yes, but it's Johnson they are bucking.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

Yeah, I'm wondering now about the validity of this story....

Rabid dogs roaming the streets of America would certainly warm Putin's heart, plus, it would keep migrants away! Make America "Third World" Again!

SkeptiKC's avatar

...too damned entirely accurate.

Linda's Bitter Disappointment's avatar

The anti vaccine craze has reached pet owners. I saw two different posts yesterday blaming them from the deaths of two beloved animals. I reported both to the admins of that page. I suspect bots.

I like my dog better without distemper and rabies, thanks.

A woman I know blamed the death f her father's dog on vaccinations ten years ago! Couldn't have been old age, she was only 14 years old!

Old Man Yells at Cloud's avatar

I prefer dogs to be foaming at the mouth because they just ate a puppachino than because they have rabies.

Make Old Yeller great again.

Elderly John's avatar

Probably not vaccinated for religious reasons.

I like everybody's dog better without distemper and rabies TYVM.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

My cat is an indoor only cat and I STILL vaccinate him because you never know what could happen and I would rather he be safe.

treehopper's avatar

We do rabies and distemper. Cat could get out. Something could come in. Why risk it?

abbienormal's avatar

I never vaccinated my indoor cat. My vet said, "what if you get a bat in the house?"

Me: I burn it down.

Susanneh's avatar

I do rabies, because it's the right thing to do. My vet would probably refuse to treat without it, I imagine.

Linda's Bitter Disappointment's avatar

I know that you can't get your dog groomed without proof of vaccination for rabies.

SkeptiKC's avatar

The LAST thing any neighborhood needs right now are a couple of former house pets gone rabid.

Isn't a rabid dictator preparing to complete the destruction of the American state enough?

TootsStansbury 🇺🇦's avatar

If right wingers started getting rabies, how would we know? Aside from the dead part, I mean.

SkeptiKC's avatar

I'm inclined to believe that depsite the fact that both are frothing at the mouth those suffering fullborne rabies remain more coherent than the depraved deplorables.

Young men are turning to fascism because women refuse to stay in the kitchen barefoot and make them a sandwich.

I told them to learn to dance, but they only learned the Trump circle-jerk.

Hamilton & The Crew 👉NO👑S👈's avatar

And fuck Van Jones also too before I forget about it.

Thesaurus Wrecks's avatar

Did Donald Trump become presidential again?

paperlesstiger's avatar

Van was pretty sure Trump would pivot away from teh stupid, but it never did happen.

Schmannity's avatar

That's what they want you to believe not.

TootsStansbury 🇺🇦's avatar

I got a Covid vaccine in October and died straight away!

SkeptiKC's avatar

Toots was turned into a newt once as well.

That also got better.

Hamilton & The Crew 👉NO👑S👈's avatar

They can be turned around provided the Gingrichitis doesn't set in.

SkeptiKC's avatar

That is a fate worse than death.

I just ordered a cup and a bowl from Saint Javelin. I wanted the burning Kremlin jigsaw puzzle but figured it might get me in trouble (we always have a jigsaw puzzle going in the break room at work).

Thesaurus Wrecks's avatar

And there it is. The NYT blames successful women refusing to date losers for them turning into right wing incels.

Fifty years and nothing has changed.

OneYieldRegular's avatar

I'm reminded of another missing-the-point NYT article of some years ago that sought to uncover the reasons for climate change denial without ONCE mentioning the role of the petrol companies or their decades of deliberate disinformation campaigns.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

Love you but I ain't reading that. Tired of the victim blaming and rationalizations.

Linda's Bitter Disappointment's avatar

That's a lot of power to give to women and I'm here for it. Men are weak creatures.

paperlesstiger's avatar

They voted for a rapist. That says all you need to know about them.

Elderly John's avatar

Not that I can understand men voting for a rapist, but I am completely bewildered by women voting for a known rapist.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

There's a LONG history of women not supporting each other unfortunately.

treehopper's avatar

I thought a large part of the manosphere ethos was rejecting being with women entirely because we’re all whores?

Spleen Victoria's avatar

It’s also gay for men to have sex with women.

Spotts1701's avatar

Even when she makes a reasonable point, she cloaks in such drivel that implies men have no responsibility to change - all of society must change around them instead.

"Letting go of the male breadwinner norm is not an instant fix for our culture, but we can’t move forward without that step. After all, “breadwinner” is not only a limiting identity; it’s also a relative one. If we don’t release men from the expectation, any plan to help them regain lost ground will have to also ensure that women never catch up."

SkeptiKC's avatar

These pitious pricks have been blaming women for all of THEIR failures ever since the Garden of Eden.

TootsStansbury 🇺🇦's avatar

I have a tendency so I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out!

Hamilton & The Crew 👉NO👑S👈's avatar

Good! I didn't want to be the only one who noticed it.

Biff52 Lost Canadian's avatar

Eh, don't blame a typo on lysdexia!

Hamilton & The Crew 👉NO👑S👈's avatar

I'm sure when the name of my next Doordash driver shows up it will be "Lysdexia." And later, a huge sumo wrestler guy (or maybe a gal) will show up with my steak and eggs.

So long as I get my bfast.

The Thanksgiving turkey at mom's must have been stuffed with angst.
