We're Not Sending Our Best People: Spring Break Jerkwads Chant 'Build The Wall!' In Mexico

Here's how bad all this political correctness stuff has gotten: Now a Mexican newspaper is complaining just because some high-spirited American college students (who were probably high and/or drinking lots of spirits) went to a Cancun tourist attraction and started chanting "Build the Wall!" Which is obviously a hilarious thing to do when you're actually in Mexico. It seems those people down there have no sense of humor at all about foreigners going there and acting like drunken morons, which is one of America's chief exports to Mexico after all. As all the trolls in the comments point out, thanks to illegal immigrants who are taking our jerbs, Mexico has no right to complain about American college assholes' behavior, you know?

The editorial in the English-language Yucatan Times cites a Facebook post -- now set to private, probably thanks to visits from patriotic 'Muricans -- by Peruvian visitor Anaximandro Amable Burga, who described some charming behavior by young Americans who also boarded the "Pirate Ship," a tourist boat based in Puerto Juárez that sails out into the Caribbean and stages fake pirate battles while making sure everyone but the performers are well-supplied with booze:

“Today I was with Suly, my wife (who is a native of Mexico), watching an entertainment show off the coast of Cancun aboard a boat, and at the end of the show, a flock of Americans (maybe under the influence of alcohol, or maybe not), began to sing the infamous “Build that wall” chant louder and louder”.

Amable Burga didn't exactly have a fine time; the editorial adds that "Several Mexican tourists on board the ship expressed their annoyance, but the Americans did not stop at all and continued singing the racist hymn." Well, why would they stop? They're young and American, they can do what they want! Besides, don't those Mexicans understand it's a new world now that Trump won the election? Maybe if Mexicans don't like drunk American visitors yelling "Build the Wall!" in Cancun, next time the college students will call the Border Patrol and insist those complaining Mexicans be deported, huh? Why is Mexico so full of Mexicans anyway? Do they even have papers to be there?

The editorial closes with a fine grumpy call for these young rowdies to get off Mexico's lawn:

This situation is far from being an isolated incident, and it adds to the growing number of complaints from tourism sector workers, who point out that in recent days many Spring Breakers have been offensive, rude and haughty towards Mexican people.

Hey, being offensive, rude, and haughty toward Mexican people is a cherished part of the Spring Break tradition, and unlike all the drinking and screwing, is the one part of Spring Break Sean Hannity will never condemn. If the people of Cancun don't like drunken American tourists, they can just go back where they came from, all right?

Oddly, HuffPo doesn't translate the first line of the post, which is why you come to Wonkette: "Tolerance is not always good, motherfucker." Amable Burga also points out that, to Trumpkins, all Latin Americans are pretty much the same:

You know that I disagree almost completely with the politics practiced by the United States government. Likewise, in these times we must be aware that half of the citizens of the country up north voted for a fascist [...] Realize, then, my dear Latin Americans, that at least that half considers that all who live south of Texas are Mexican. To them neither Guatemalans, Hondurans, Venezuelans, Colombians, Argentines nor Peruvians exist. There’s no difference. We are all regarded as Mexicans. That how arrogant they are. And with that same cretinism they praise and support the decisions of their new fascist president.

Jeeze, that's one angry Mexican dude who needs to learn how to take a joke, man. Maybe he should just have some cerveza and learn how to paaaaarty.

The White House has not yet commented on the controversy at this time, but is reportedly exploring the option of recruiting drunken frat boys -- OK, more of them -- as part of the president's expanded deportation force. 

In other Turista hilarity being reported this week, Mexican social media is also blowing up over a Twitter photo of a tourist (home country unidentified) posing with a shit-eating grin while holding an automatic rifle (magazine removed, but still) borrowed from a Mexican federal police officer in Playa del Carmen -- the anger is partly directed at the dumb tourist, but mostly aimed at police, who manage to keep showing up in fun tourist photos instead of actually cracking down on drug-related crime in the area. But the tourists are having loads of fun and spending valuable dollars, which is what Mexico is there for, isn't it?
