I feel like most of the opposition to vaccines is of the “I know a guy” or “I heard about a guy” who was one of a small number of people who had a reaction to a vaccine with terrible consequences. No real evidence but confirms to what people want to believe.
This just in! MAGA "do your own researchers" have recently determined that blood letting is not quite the cure for dangerous humors in the elderly and have withdrawn their invaluable seal of approval. RFK, Jr. and Bill Kassidy had no comment.
I don't think I've related this personal story since it was current for me, but I will always be *very* grateful for the 'side effects' I got from the Moderna Covid vaccine when it first became available.
A couple of days after receiving the vaccine, I ended up with blood in my stool, necessitating a trip to ER to have it diagnosed.
It took literally 3 weeks to get an appointment for a colonoscopy, but when I had it, discovered that I had a malignant tumor that had been developing for~3 years, but fortunately had not yet metastasized.
After 9 months of chemo and radiation, I was given a clean bill of health, and have had no recurrence now in over 5 years.
A 100% fatal, unprecedentedly contagious, slowly debilitating, highly painful disease arises that can be cured by drinking a glass of water. Tens of thousands of doctors, including Fauci, tell people to drink water, and they do and survive, but the rapist tells his cult that the water cure is bullshit, and fills his cabinet only with people who agree it is bullshit. The cult refuses to drink a glass of water and goes extinct.
Growing up, there was no flu vaccine, but flu was considered survivable. Then when I was in my 20's I heard that a business associate of mine in her 50's had died of the flu. I was startled to learn that was possible. At some point "flu shots" gradually became a thing people started getting, but I thought it was to avoid getting the flu, not to keep you from dying. There was a swine flu fiasco in the 70's, but at least it brought the idea of mass inoculations for flu to public consciousness. I got a flu shot one year, and it was one where they missed guessing the endemic strain, so I got the flu anyway and I was in bed for nine days. It made me suspicious of the value of flu shots. Now I am an old so I am much more concerned and I get my flu shot every year. Haven't had the flu in 20+ years. Looking forward to trying the new mRNA flu shot.

Yet he's living fat and sassy in Texas making a good living pushing anti-vaxer nonsense. Anybody interested should Google the Hviid study that brought Wakefield down. But the anti-vaxer clowns don't do this thing. But what do I know. I'm just a Mayo-trained expert with 45 years experience in pediatric infectious diseases.

I tried to get both CoVid & Flu vaccines yesterday at my Dr appointment but was told it would be best if I waited for the new ones to come out.
