We've had 10 straight days of sub zero overnight lows, which is pretty extreme for our part of the Earth. It's really taken a toll locally : water main breaks, schools closed, roads treacherous. The snow on the ground has frozen hard as ankle deep cement. Our solar panels are covered so the electric bill will be high and we've been burning through our propane like nobody's business. Luckily we have plenty of firewood to share with the neighbors. But it's warming up now, closer to normal and soon the thaw will overflow the creeks (the struggle continues) Take heart Wonkers, we are still here. Love ya.

I don't know if this will make anyone feel better, but I think I know where it would be fair to place the blame for our premature stress aging.

Any other Texans out there? February 2 is the last day to register to vote for the upcoming primaries. Make sure you are registered. You can check with the Texas Secretary of State’s “Am I Registered?” portal, or your county’s voter registrar. For new Texans, we do not have online registration, you need to complete a voter registration application and turn it in before the deadline.
