One example would be to shout "You lie" at Trump during his next speech in Congress. Or tweet at him directly or address his "Dems did this to the children." I want to see Dems throw down the gauntlet and win with words. Call the prez a liar to his face.

I applaud all the Dem officials for storming the detention centers and trying to shed more light on what is actually happening there. We should search for more info from workers who work there, like the guy who quit because his conscience couldn't take it. In addition, other Dems should keep repeating Trump is a liar, because although the press and all the rational people know this has nothing to do with Dems, Trump keeps repeating this ad nauseam without nary a challenge. In the last four days, he must have said this like 20 times.

How do we challenge a president on his lies? How do you de-program his brainwashed cult members? How do you reveal that there's nothing behind the Trump curtain?

Basically, I'm most worried about this idea from Joseph Goebbels: keep repeating the lie and it becomes truth. It worked so well for him—60 million people died during WW2.

Simply make the fines scale to income/wealth.Oh, I love that Finnish model of fines, but I can't see anyone in the US ever letting that kind of thing happen. It makes a mockery of everything the USA wealth gospel currently stands for.

Police could certainly be funded better for investigations without breaking the bank so that things like... rape kits, were always processes so serial rapists are identified and the investigations treated more seriously, rather than finding out 20 years down the track that the guy in jail for rape already was responsible for 13 other rapes when they are eventually processed by donation funding. Just how much value does the USA actually put on Justice and Democracy... umm, sorry, that's rhetorical... virtually zero, most of their elections are run by volunteers and DA's and Judges are often appointed by popularity contests rather than competence. This has a proven corrupting effect on Justice.

As for freedom, you probably need a little less for everyone's safety. https://www.dayssincethelas...

As to the odds dude will be reckless again... pretty high IMO. He might not do the same thing, might not, but he already had contempt for the law and that isn't going to change much. Taking his money forever isn't going to work, its perceived as unjust, being permanently punished for something is still a punishment, not an effective community deterrent. A short custodial sentence or extensive community service orders are most appropriate depending on how genuine his remorse appears to be in court.

Yes. Sadly, they flourish among the gullible.

It's disturbing on a number of horrific levels...

Which is really disturbing, considering how many of them are always projecting about child molesting.

Dems have not capitalized on any of this. Why do they sit back and not throw it all back in Trump's face? I looked at the Twitter feeds of Schiff, Lieu, Harris, Warren. They address how horrible and inhumane this policy is, but no one (with the exception of Lieu) takes the president head-on. Time every Dem did so.

If there is nothing bad going on in those camps there is no reason to keep any visitors out. Transparancy is key, without transparancy you just know that whatever is going on cannot stand daylight.

Sounds good to me.

If they can somehow keep making money appear the next step would be punitive taxation. For each crime add a 25% yearly wealth tax alternating with a 25% income tax. Once both are above 150% or the non-violent criminal cannot pay, then jail.
