Zach Bryan released an ep this week and it's pretty good, but he so clearly just wanted to do a play on the Drive By Truckers song Outfit and I feel like I'm going crazy that no one else seems to have commented on that. Track with Lana Del Rey was a banger though.

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar

Outfit is a song I’m pretty territorial about, as a country boy. That’s a core experience.

Does contempt of court not work anymore? They've REPEATEDLY violated what the judge or court has said. When is enough fucking ENOUGH?!

That's fuckin' great. Trump came to power as an 'outsider', 'maverick', whatever, barf barf barf. But it makes clear the appeal of that sort of thing, these days. We need non-assholes, non-criminals, to take the same approach.

LOL. Reminds me of me considering whether to join our HOA board. (I decided that I’d prefer not to.)

There was someone I wanted to advise to join their HOA board, but my hands are tied in the kinds of advice I can give.

I was reading earlier today about how AI 'proved' the Reimann hypothesis. First, the two proofs related (out of dozens OpenAI dumped out very recently) just prove a possible step in the right direction. Put simply, we believe the solutions to a certain function have to be on a certain line. We had already proven they had to be within a certain distance of that line, and all these AI proofs did was narrow that distance. Which isn't nothing, but it's work that people were already doing.

And it is very explicitly work people were already doing, because once again this 'proof' is just OpenAI's model finding connections between papers that were already published. Basically, because they've stolen so much data, they can do a much more thorough literature review than anyone else. That's it. Hundreds of pages of almost incomprehensible AI written proofs to determine that this was already out there, if someone could connect these papers.

Finally! A President willing to show a tail rotor some respect, stopping to wave, salute, and talk to a vital piece of equipment most Presidents are too conceited to acknowledge and interact with. Hopefully next time he will spend more time with it, one on one, playing patty cake and letting it kiss his face.

And I actually knew that New Mexico was older than Mexico, because a really smart New Mexican wrote about it here, back in July:

She also has quite a trove of material on the Zorro Ranch and its history, and the history of the Epstein/Maxwell cabal in general. Going all the way back to Ghislaine's daddy Robert, possible connections to Mossad and Soviet/Russian intelligence, and all manner of fuckery (literal and metaphorical)

I was mentioning mega-crap AI data center company CoreWeave. Their founders cashed out literally billions of dollars in stock. Not a vote of confidence, and pretty disgusting, considering their investors are about to be shafted. The swap markets now give them a 60% or so chance of defaulting on their debt. Equally crap company Firmus had to scrap its IPO, and Nscale, in the same business line, is being pushed to reduce the size of theirs, if it even happens. If you wondered how the whole AI bubble pops, well, the deflation is starting, among its weakest participants. But everybody else, pretty much, is in line to take a bath, too.

asmallmacropod's avatar

I’d say I hope they all go broke but we all know who will pay for it in the end.

VaselineHabits's avatar

That money should have been paid in TAXES to the betterment of us all. Fuck all of this unbelievably selfish stupid shit.

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar

And institutional investors are buying that debt. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Well, their AI's are telling them too....

G-7 in Space's avatar

How can this not happen on Trump's watch...?

VaselineHabits's avatar

It BETTER. I also have my doubts he wants to or will leave, so... may happen one way or another. Maybe we get a Civil War when the American dollar becomes useless when every sane country shuns us over Trump.

So many possibilities

Here's hoping he finds out (the hard way).

So, what's the most annoying youtube commercial you're seeing?

R. Riddle's avatar

Those WalMart ads with that annoying guy with a high forehead and stringy hair that looks like an actor I've seen before, but is some kind of AI creation.

At least Walmart stopped running those ads promoting some jeans branded by some country artist who has her facial appearance altered within an inch of its life.

theCryptofishist's avatar

I have seen neither of these. No regrets.

theCryptofishist's avatar

I personally have difficulty with the family of ads featuring quasi-doctors with cute names for things in the large intestine...

VaselineHabits's avatar

Mr has YouTube Premium, so thankfully at home I'm spared any commericials. My YT? The cheap/free kind and all i get are anti-Vicente Gonzalez ads or anti-Eric Flores ads... they both sound horrible and I got to vote for that shitbag Gonzalez

GiggleSnort's avatar

I'm on Premium, too. I found it completely unwatchable with commercials.

VaselineHabits's avatar

I'm spoiled with Premium, but it certainly highlights how shit YT has become with commercials. I used to be able to list to 3ish songs before a commercial, now it's about 2 commercials after EVERY song. Insanity

theCryptofishist's avatar

I'm hoping this is killing the goose.

So, say this person, a person you've known for years, has always been a shit and say, recently, they've set that sort of behavior aside -- without the help of a/the 'lord' -- and have become better behaved, even 'nice'. Is that person now a 'shat'?

Asking about a friend.

Yes they do, but they are usually the exceptions that prove the rule, sadly. :/

And usually only after some comeuppance has been suffered or some kind of major personal setback that makes them get self-reflective.

Which doesn't happen often b/c pea-brains. :(

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar
