The difference between an authoritarian regime and a totalitarian one, as most of us know, is that in the former, the regime cares mainly about your compliance, not your ideological convictions, while in the latter, they care a great deal about whether you buy the noxious mind-garbage they're pumping out every day. Enthusiastic agreement is required. Because of Trump's extreme narcissism, I think he is pushing us towards full-on totalitarianism, wherein ideology alone matters and material reality is brazenly recast to suit ideological imperatives. If that weren't so, Trump wouldn't be so damned interested in the funding and particulars of all the museums, libraries, schools, universities, and news organizations.
Ta, Evan. I was a member of Smithsonian for decades, although I hardly ever made it down to DC. The last time I was there, the gem and mineral exhibit had been redone, and it was perfectly lovely. They even used my tagline for the meteorites, Messengers from Space. I also loved the magazine. Their annual feature, "30 under 30" was how I found out about both Esperanza Spalding and Annie Clark, who performs as St. Vincent.
The King Don Museum of Revisionist History. Entry fee is $500 in Trump meme coins. All alleged historical objects supposedly more than 6,000 years old have been destroyed, for God. New exhibits include “The Magic of The White Man,” “Cheeseburgers of the World,” and “The Stollen 2020 Election Hoax Conspiracy Witch Hunt in IMAX.”
“'In reviewing our legacy content recently, it became clear that the "Limits of Presidential Power" section in The American Presidency: A Glorious Burden exhibition needed to be addressed,' the spokesperson said in a statement."
Well, duh. There are no limits on Presidential power. The proven rapist Trump has made this clear:
"Then I have an Article II, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president."
I just want to cry, this week has been too much for me. I can’t take the out-of-control constant lying and extortion. It is putting all of us into hypervigilence, like every day we wake up to more new bad news. It needs to end. And that musk blew through billions while traumatizing federal workers needs to be dealt with. FortyFive turned this freak loose on all of us, again with no accountability. That also needs to end. We need lots of endings, and new beginnings.
Can we just go ahead and remove "home of the brave" from the national anthem and replace it with "home of Trump's taint licking cowards"? While we're at it might as well remove "land of the free" too.
Hey friend, we seem to have similar interests, and I’m new here so I thought I’d introduce myself with an article.
This one’s about Giants:

It's okay, we will instantly rename it all to FTG in whatever hell he suffers in very soon.
The Melanya Troomp Room for Balls should be splendid. It’s tasteful and understated.
Next up: cavemen riding the dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum.
Unbelievable. Can we expect the Stalinist history revisions? Maybe with Mike Pence airbrushed out?

And when are they coming for my memory?
All due respect, it's not YOUR memory they're concerned with.
The generation after this will have no memory of growing up in a democracy.

When you're a lifelong con artist, munnie launderer, rapist, racist, terrorist, and traitor, they let you do it.*
*Offer applies to Republinazis only.
Have they installed the “A perfect conversation” audio exhibit yet, totally exonerating Il Trump?
this won’t save you, either.
American Democracy. A rapidly changing exhibit in a museum. That tracks.

What they say in totalitarian countries.

Some days, I feel like John Coffey. I'm tired. I'm just so very tired.
"It's like this every day."
This is some straight up 1984 rewriting of history shit. All because President Diaper Baby gets a rash whenever anyone speaks ill of him.
Despite his protestations to the contrary, he really IS ashamed of his two impeachments.

This country was never the "land of the free."
Land of For-Profit Prisons.
We can keep "land of the free" if we add "rich white men" after it.
