I was going to write a poem

But fell back in defeat

Because the cartoon's opening song

Is just too hard to beat

I've tried it many times

But a poem is a smidgen more

Than words, rhymes and meter

“It has been a terrible bill with terrible outcomes for the youth, especially those who are the victims of their parents’ abuse. I have seen youth not want to participate in therapy for fear their abuser would gain access to what they are talking about,” state Rep. Marco Erickson (R), a youth organization director who voted for the measure despite misgivings, said in an email. “I tried to warn my fellow legislators … but I was one Republican voice among a group of people who do not understand how things work on the ground.”

But you voted for it, anyway. What kind of asshole does that make you? A _cowardly_ asshole, I’d say.

Sorry, Rhonda, what Nixon said was, "When the PRESIDENT does it, that means that it is not illegal."

I had the misfortune of hearing The Old One's diatribe about Arnold Palmer last night, or at least most of it. Damn you, Seth Meyers, for infesting my living room with that noise! Anyway, it struck how many times The Old One used the words "strong" and "strength". Arnold Palmer was so strong! He had big strength!

And then I realized that this is a recurring theme in The Old One's speeches. Viktor Orban is strong! Kim Jung Un has strength! Big strong men with tears in their eyes! Strong! This is The Old One's way of getting his followers to associate himself with strength. "I'm strong too", he says in what should be a squeaky (or squicky!) little voice. Reality is that he has a raspy, annoying voice that I hope I never hear after November. The guy is not strong. Bullies never are.

Trump Hawks $100 'MAGADonald's' T-Shirts

The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee are pushing “MAGADonald’s” T-shirts. The white jersey features Trump waving from the drive-thru window. The website suggests a donation of $100 (or more) in exchange for the T-shirt, which is aimed at every “true Trump patriot.” {HuffPost]

The Trump-Vance 2024 store calls it the “Little Red MAGA Hat,” but it’s not actually what that sounds like. Rather, it’s a white baseball hat featuring an illustration of those hats. The gimmick doesn’t work nearly as well in T-shirt form, which the campaign is also hawking. [Slate; https://slate.com/culture/2024/10/donald-trump-president-2024-maga-hat.html]

Did McDonald's authorize this use of their brand? Let's Wonk-splore!

Yes. McDonald's should know better than to alienate a huge segment of their market.

No. The Trump campaign is in deep shit, 'cause McDonald's lawyers have the temperament of a rabid badger and their eyes glow red. Be there, will be wild!

Guys help me stay grounded, is there any chance of winning this thing, feel rather frozen with fear as we approach the final two weeks, just absolutely terrified

So many ppl seem deadset on putting a shambling orange zombie into the oval office so his early-career hitler VP can take over and do the real work and it's just so awful to contemplate, but it feels all up to the votes now

TFFG doesn't give a rat's ass about FEMA workers, and wouldn't if they were being gunned down in the streets. He'd just excuse their killers by saying, (and I'll quote what he said about two thugs who beat a homeless person almost to death, about a decade ago), "Some people are just passionate about their country."
