I am also frustrated. Judicial choices could derail a progressive agenda for decades to come.
I know the Dems can't stop the nominations, but they can use every possible way to delay and to publicize them. Some of these nominees are horrible. The Dems should be publicizing why they are horrible.
Even more importantly, if the Dems want to energize liberals to turn out and vote, then the party better show a little energy itself. A lot of voting is based on emotions rather than reason (as shown in 2016). Wussy Dems don't inspire much emotion. They don't show much leadership. There are a few exceptions, but Schumer isn't one of them. He seems to be weary and to have given up. Let's hope voters don't follow his example and give up the fight.
I'm not championing the position of people who see no reason to vote. Quite the opposite. I hold people who run for office accountable on their ability to lead when reelecting them. Politics and governance is not zero sum. And it moves back and forth in the direction people allow it to (by pushing or by letting others push). Sometimes you have to risk losing in the short term to win over the long term. People are energized only because they see what someone like trump can do to hurt the country.
There are many examples of getting what one wants only in situations where you are willing to risk losing. Look at how the GOP base works to get what they want, deplorable as it is.
The centrist Dems have been allowed the shift to the right to happen in some quest for a muddled compromise. But the GOP do not want compromise, and I think many others dont either. Like slavery, many issues do not have a middle. You either allow a woman to choose or you dont, recognize gay marriage as equal or not, allow immigrants or not, provide environmental protection or not, sustain our country in good health or not, etc. Voting for the muddled middle postpones the resolution.

Troll person.
There are 33 senate seats up for re-election this year, 24 of them are held by Democrats.

Amy don't make up for Chuck .
Doesn't cancelling the recess prevent *both* sides from campaigning? And regardless, how is it relevant to Schumer's deal?
I couldn't agree more.
No, I don't think Mitch is great. Manchin isn't great either. I'd think he was great if he voted like a Democrat more often.
The ones I had just made a bigger mess! NO FAIR!

Was she present to vote?

What did anyone expect? This is after all, and has been for years, Schumer - The Incredible Folding Senator we are discussing.
From your mouth to the gods' ears. Sending hope and prayers
