That's reading something in that I don't see evidence of. As it is, hedge fund investments are a BFD in the Ecuadorian elections right now (the conservative candidate is a hedge fund manager). My musings were more based on Wonkette's open antipathy towards Assange, focusing on his alleged sexual predation, when it seems more based in his role in undermining Hillary Clinton's campaign (alleged). It seems what's overlooked is that Clinton was seen as a much bigger threat to Latin America than Trump, who is merely a boob and racist.
Besides, Ecuador (and the rest of Latin America) would welcome more business ties to Russia.
