Thank you, thank you, thank you! Adam Hamilton is indeed a very nice thing we have in Kansas, and after a week of hearing the other side's ads about him, I'm thankful to see a good profile for him here. We're gonna do all we can to get him elected, as well as some really good US Rep candidates on our side, too. Thanks again!
Markwayne Mullin: "When the president says we're fighting fights home and abroad, a lot of people focus on the fight that's going in the Middle East but they don't that realize every single day we're fighting in our waters, off the coastlines."
I used to pay attention to Kathleen Parker, but not since she called Lindsey Graham the Jiminy Cricket, or Conscience, of the Senate after his meltdown during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing. Look, Kathleen, you got what you wanted, Roe v Wade is not the law of the land or settled law anymore. Why don’t you just quit and watch sunrises over Myrtle Beach for the rest of your life? You are old, you are over 70, you pretend to be a centrist when really you are just another Phyllis Schafly/Anita Bryant/Laura Loomer/Jeanine Pirro/Laura Ingrahm RWNJ. Just hang up your word processor and let Robyn Pennachia have a shot at a Post column.
I miss Nancy Landon Kassenbaum. What is the matter with Kansas? Too many farmers who vote Republican because their great great grandfather did, and they haven’t noticed that Ike would be a Democrat today. Senator Marshall will win reelection 55% to 45%, and the pro-gun farmers and Kansas City, KS suburbians will shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to farm policy. Trump cancelled SNAP, WIC, and USAID, but the farmers won’t care.
Important Correction re: "the snotty mean-girl trolling that constitutes much of American politics is hurting our neighbors."
Girls, mean or otherwise, have very little to do with the corrupt mess that is currently American politics. Give credit where it's due: trumpy, Maga, and bigots.
"Trump today issued an order to return to the 19th Century steam punk tech. The order, strongly opposed by the Navy, directs that all future carriers employ steam catapults for launch. The order applies to the already half built fourth ship in the Ford class, USS Doris Miller. That half built ship will have to be extensively redesigned, at a cost of tens of billions, and will delay its launching by years, yet another loss to national security."
I'm impressed that Hamilton said "You were hired by the people of Kansas to speak up for them, to stand up for them, and that's your job.”
Because when I wrote to then-Senator Vitter of Louisiana in 2008 asking him to investigate the corruption in the "Road Home To Recovery" program being run by the state legislature with 11 billion dollars that came directly from HUD, and which was cheating tens of thousands of Louisiana hurricane victims out of recovery grants they had been promised, his response was a letter in which he said:
"Because I am a representative of the federal government, I have no jurisdiction in state matters."
WTF? A senator represents the people of their entire home state IN the federal government. They are not merely representatives OF the federal government. No wonder nothing gets done in Louisiana.
Correct answer, "This is of concern. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. "

Jesus, if they wanted to maintain deniability you'd think they'd mix their modus operandi up at least a little bit. Otherwise you might as well just shoot him.
Why do you think they csre about deniability? Everyone is supposed to know what happened and who is behind it. It's an overt threat. "We will fo this to even high ranking, inner circle people. In public. What do you think will happen to you, your family, and everyone you know if you cross us?"

Great speech by Hamilton. I liked the “arguing with Roger Marshall in the shower” bit.
It is wild that Kansas could be in play.
It would be wilder still if we end up with 3 pastors in the Senate, and they’re all Democrats. Suck on that, White Christian Nationalists.

GOVERNOR
🟦 Amy Acton: 47%
🟥 V. Ramaswamy: 46%
Nice, but still too close for comfort.
A sitting United States senator tied in the polls in August is someone in deep shit.
Keep playing the clips of Trump and him refusing to challenge the pedophile.
"They skipped socialism, can you believe it? I continue to be right. I like being right."
"If you weren't an illegal alien, you didn't get a lawyer. Only illegal aliens got them."
Um. BULLSHIT. That's what public defenders are, fucko.
Jesus Christ if no one starts questioning this shit we are fucked.
These guys don't even question what skin color Jesus would have had and why he was in no way an American.
And he's using that sing-songy fucking hypnotic voice.
*goes to smash shit*
Wut?

He's yammering to some NYPD. Fuck these fascists. They are hee hawing and yukking it up with him and savagely shouting out for blood.
It is a horrific fascist spectacle.

Once considered one of Vladimir Putin's closest allies and even a potential successor, Ivanov held several of Russia's most powerful positions, including Defense Minister, Security Council Secretary, and Kremlin Chief of Staff. The Kremlin confirmed his death.
This is a bit strange; I saw the news that Ivanov died over a month ago. He was in power for a long time.
How did he die AGAIN?
Also, I cannot find anywhere that he died via the open window policy
For example:
"Death and the Kremlin", June 30, 2026
"The sudden death of Sergey Ivanov, one of Putin’s closest allies and his former KGB colleague, has revived discussion about the post-Putin Kremlin."
https://cepa.org/article/death-and-the-kremlin/

I was thinking, maybe this is just code for shot.
