RE men from previous generations:

My grandfather was a member of The "Greatest" Generation (scare quotes mine; for you young'uns, that's the generation that fought in WWII). Toward the end of his life, he wrote a little biography for the family. In it, he stated that the birth of my mother "interrupted" my grandmother's career as a hospital nurse. Not, "she finally quit and became the barefoot housewife of my dreams," but "her career was interrupted by the birth of our first child."

Iowa farm-raised WWII-landmine-digging engineer correctly identified that his wife's ultimate destiny wasn't pumping out babies and catering to his every whim, but her own aspirations. And he was a hardcore party-line conservative.

So, "one time he saw a little girl in a “the future is female” T-shirt and lost his damn mind." What kind of manly man is terrified of a t-shirt and actually admits it in public? Also, did the guy get one though further and wonder what the present is and notice that it's mostly male? Yet he whines.

"What is wrong with these men?" The Internet is not big enough to hold the answer.

Seriously, have men turned into women? This looksmaxxing stuff sounds like what teenage girls used to do. Getting your hair and makeup perfect, to attract the guys. Except, girls never turned it into some nationwide hate movement against men.

Thanks for the lovely Bach piece. Like a fine wine washing all the stench of manosphere out of my nostrils

I don't think that Darwin Awards come in levels, but this guy deserves a Golden Darwin Award.

The gold bug guy looked like a hamster (apologies to the noble hamster) that just scored a couple of pingpong balls it thought were unshelled walnuts.

So ... they're horrified that boys are being taught that the world is a patriarchy? IOW, they agree that patriarchy is a bad thing. But their whole shtick is that patriarchy is a GOOD thing. So why aren't they happy that boys are being taught this, that their rightful role is rulers of the universe?

How can they possibly keep any of their self-contradictory, self-loathing garbage worldview straight?

Who even has the time for this?

Self pity is a dumb hobby.

Thanks Robyn. For the life of me, I just can't wrap my head around the mindset of these angry idiots. Narcissism? Inferiority complexes? These people are somehow threatened by another gender? It's really the most stupid thing imaginable. Maybe it's a Kegseth movement. F**king idiots!

Those two brothers arrested (finally) - Shit! - We'll see if they get the hell they deserve in prison.

i'm sorry but people who believe in manifesting are people who don't want to do the work (like saving up for a specific pair of shoes)

I watched the first 15 minutes. Its hard, makes me want to punch the screen. Here in Norway, our little Trump cult is stalking a fragile norwegian-somali author, Sumaya Ali. They are really showing themselves. (Its 22 july tomorrow)

[B]ecause other men used to be bad...

This is the same bullshit maga uses to attack anything they see as “woke” and complain that pointing to anything bad some white people have done is teaching white kids to hate themselves for being white.

Ironically, the legacy of maga has been to teach Gen Z men that they are the perpetual victims

Bank robber robs bank. Bank robber’s son robs bank, says to arresting LEOs, “Why. are you blaming me for my father’s crime?” That’s incel logic!

Interesting how these macho men are SO sensitive! And oppressed!

oscarphile's avatar

So true. And their role model is the biggest fucking whiny grievance baby in American history.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again -- you can't stop me!

That Clavicular guy seems mighty ill-tempered.

The reference is "the well-tempered clavier", one of the wonders of the musical universe -- the very first movement, played by the greatest living Bach pianist:

You bet. The conductor of our little Bach Study Group, a wonderful musician with heavy credentials and extraordinarily broad tastes, is in awe of her.
