Indeed, replacing the competent and successful Lloyd Austin with an unqualified, but White guy, the new boss seems to have found up his ass, sure looks like an attempt to DIVERSIFY and make sure ignorance is counted as EQUAL to expertise, and that a radicalized and misguided White supremacist, phony Christian is INCLUDED among the capable folks we already have, despite his many shortcomings. This kind of "DEI" hiring is harmful and should be stopped.

Aside from the usual Nazi model of governing, identifying DEI programs under another name is just a tiny step away from demanding people to identify DEI "hires". Like that smart black guy down the hall who just beat you out of the job you deserve, or maybe that latino who works in your building but moved into your neighborhood and plays that "music" while he has this big family over on the weekends for BBQ, or worse, that woman who wears pretty sexy clothes but won't give you the time of day. Once identified they can have a star attached to their 201 file so they can be watched to ensure they are performing up to standard (which of course they won't).
Just an aside, I remember near the end of first real lost war in Vietnam (couple after that), there was a real reduction in the forces. I remember a lot of worried people, but everyone got really excited when we were required to have an 8.5 by 11 color 3/4 photo in dress uniform to add to our file. It was obvious that they were going to make their selections based only on merit.
I read that Wilson's administration started requiring photos along with job requests and the number of Black hires plummeted.
I presume that someone is keeping track of all the stuff that these fascists are undoing so that the next Democrat in the White House can, on Day One of their administration, begin reinstating it all. I say "begin," since all the vandalism they are doing will take a long time to repair.
