All of this is just LIFO - last in, first out. His least committed (committable?) supporters are backing off and as he continues to make their racism expensive. The rest will follow until he’s left with the plutocrats who he can’t really harm, but there are 100 of them.

Nobody will argue that Iran was a sponsor of terror creating a threat to not only the USA and Europe but alsos to other countries in the Mid-East and even China and India. Oddly, Russia seems to be the least affected by this threat.

What Trump has done is to have knocked down the hornets nest, but at least we knew where the hornets were. Now, we have many, many angry hornets buzzing around all over the place stinging whoever they can. Surprised? Apparently Mr Trump is

How many countries has Iran attacked in the past century?

The "dumb" framing is a tell that conflates documentation access with cognitive capacity. The SAVE Act isn't an intelligence test. It's a paperwork test — and the Federal government has no business administering it.

You'd think that after 20+ years of failure, someone would have realized by now that threats of terrorism cannot be defeated by standard military operations, because, duh, ,terrorists are not military operations. They are more akin to criminal gangs or individual criminals. However, anyone who tries to point this out is immediately labeled as "pro-terrorist" and we continue to throw trillions of dollars into tactics which have been proven to be dismally ineffective. We are, at present, no more safe from a terrorist attack than we were on Sept 10, 2001

Less so in many ways as we focus on the wrong things and believe that activity = progress. Look! We’re doing shit, so we’re safer! Uhhh beg to differ there sparky.

Terrorism is two things:

A political problem.

A police problem.

Neither of those can be solved with soldiers.

A different Democrat should deny unanimous consent to proceed every morning, then put a hold on all nominations every afternoon. stop the senate from all business every. damn. day. they are business as usualing us into oblivion.

Reading this, all I can think of the board game "Clue"; the solution is "Donald in the bathroom with a leopard".

I read this as "Donald in the bathroom in a "leotard" and was properly horrified and brain bleaching!

Iran bombed an Australian military facility in the UAE that also housed troops from the USA, UK and elsewhere. I'm sure that this assault will make all European countries run to trump's side. Just kidding.

Here's a potential outcome - the entire Eurozone bands together to negotiate a separate peace with Iran that excludes the USA. Extremely unlikely, the brutal mullahs are not popular anywhere. But if things keep going as they are, other countries are going to start seeking ways to end the conflict. None of those solutions will be USA-friendly.

With any abuser the most dangerous time is when you’ve left them. The shit Trump does is about to get more unreasonable and abusive in the USA. Trump stalking via government surveillance and having his flying monkeys go after those who dare to leave him makes you realize he’s so unoriginal, but exceedingly harmful that he might just resort to killing his “ex lovers”.

That's why the SAVE Act is worse than people believe

The GOP wants people to think it's only about voter ID ... which not only is it not, but it's also the reason they don't want you to know it's not just about voter suppression

It's also about surveillance of Americans

https://bsky.app/profile/jennycohn.bsky.social/post/3mh7ioml5t22x

... so you won't call your Senators and demand they vote against it

LOU LOU's avatar

That little meet up at the Pentagon with Anthropic a few weeks ago was because Anthropic would not allow Pentagon to use Claude to do surveillance on USA citizens. Now that Anthropic is out and Open AI is in, one can only assume Open AI has no issues either with surveillance or AI 100 percent running aerial bombing equipment.

I don't think we want to test too many more of those assumptions ...

The "SAVE" Act... which make females of voting age, who are US citizens, jump through hoops in order to just engage in their Constitutional right of voting. I ordered 2 birth certificates from OH online, while currently living in AZ, and they were $21 a piece. Some females (I use females because Heaven forbid someone on the right question if I know what a woman is when I am one) don't have that kind of money to get extra copies of their birth certificates or even 1 copy. Some have many other things on their plates, like kids, a husband, a job, school, etc. This makes it exhausting to try and go get one or to order one. Neither of these scenarios even puts into play the marriage licenses. Maybe a lot of females have more ready access to these. If one has been married for 50 years, and her husband is deceased, she may not have it. Will every state even accept these 2 documents plus the Real ID? Yet, men don't have to provide anything but their Real ID. If no one isn't seeing the difference here...

Yes, it does violate the 19th Amendment, in top of every other terrible thing it does

You're not imagining it

When this whole SAVE thing started, I ran to my files and dragged out my passport. It is indeed good through 2027. As soon as the midterms are over, I'm getting it renewed. In the meantime though, a very slim solace is that GOP voters are married at a much higher rate than Democrat voters - like a 15% gap. Further, I surmise GOP women are more likely to take their husbands' names at marriage. So the SAVE act would actually impinge on more GOP women than Democrat women. Still horrible, but like the Texas redistricting started a maelstrom of anti-GOP activity, I think that the SAVE act would spark revolts of different types across the country.

A key difference between Axios bullet points and Wonkette bullet points is the ratio of Wonkette bullet points to ads is 1:0 and the Axios ratio of bullet points to ads is 1:5,000,000,000.

Everything can be a bullet point now that Axios exists!

NOOOOOOOOOOO!

“I WILL NEVER (EVER!) ENDORSE ANYONE WHO VOTES AGAINST ‘SAVE AMERICA!!!’”

Since everyone now realizes that a Trump endorsement is the "Kiss of Death" for any candidate , that alone should put an end to this BS legislation
