Genius! ... They would go crazy, but would have to phrase things carefully; Krugman is an economist, so ... math (can be a silver bullet around those folks. and not just arithmetic; words like "polynomial" and such).

He's already had his must-attack-Iran-now training from the neocons he paid good taxpayer $$ to have on his staff, so it would save a lot of time, and maybe keep Feith & Co out of the Pentagon for a few weeks.

Not after the way he was portrayed in "Patton." The actual FG Montgomery may have been a good guy and an admirable leader, but Schaffner made him seem like a preening dandy.

John Keegan explains it all...Turns out that firestorm-bombing civilian populations (à la Dresden) is only admirable if you do it by accident (à la Hiroshima).
