Genius! ... They would go crazy, but would have to phrase things carefully; Krugman is an economist, so ... math (can be a silver bullet around those folks. and not just arithmetic; words like "polynomial" and such).

I would too, but the hysteria will be bad enough with Hagel. Especially since I believe he is going to have to enact spending cuts.

Did you know George Soros' first language was Esperanto? Seriously- I read it in The New Yorker.

Grüß Gott! I had to look that one up. <a href="http:\/\/www.urbandictionary.com\/define.php\?term=Backpfeifengesicht" target="_blank">Urban Dictionary</a>. And, yes, yes it is.

You're so obvious.

Now, for a really scary thought - I hope they never, ever nominate one-L. Whatever they do, I;m just skeered of the notion of Michele being elevated in any way. Yikes!

Shinseki was my first thought, although Clark would probably do well, too.

Semi-seriously, if he just wanted to fuck with 'em some more, Colin Powell. Just to watch the pretzel-logic.

All fear the wrath of Khan. He'll put a bug in your ear...just ask Mr Sulu.

He's already had his must-attack-Iran-now training from the neocons he paid good taxpayer $$ to have on his staff, so it would save a lot of time, and maybe keep Feith & Co out of the Pentagon for a few weeks.

Not after the way he was portrayed in "Patton." The actual FG Montgomery may have been a good guy and an admirable leader, but Schaffner made him seem like a preening dandy.

Discuss.

...who haven't already hunkered down into GM-15 or SES civil service positions at said Penty-gon .

How is it that this great <a href="http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/history\/worldwars\/wwtwo\/area_bombing_01.shtml " target="_blank">leader </a> never appears in any movies, even the war-porn? And how come he never got knighted?

John Keegan explains it all...Turns out that firestorm-bombing civilian populations (à la Dresden) is only admirable if you do it by accident (à la Hiroshima).

Ah! Probably knew they'd seat him under the air conditioning register in the House of Lords.
