Rich people generally only want to know what other rich people think.

The thing that bugs me the most is the pronunciation of Latinx. Okay, you don't seem to want Latina or Latino, but WHY is it pronounced 'latin-ex'???Do they actually want to get rid of the Spanish pronunciaton of words too? - 'lateen-ex' was right there. This gives me the impression that whomever came up with the word is not Latina/o/x.

What? Elections have been absolutely honest for 200 years. Apparently, democratic control of elections just makes them fair, because part of being a democrat is accepting every vote. I'm sure you can find some exception here or there, but the entire philosophy involves fair play. (while the other does not)

White man supremacy, maybe.

If a bunch of Texas yahoos can wipe their butts with the Constitution and call it a work of art, why shouldn't the rest of us? Can't say I thought the ultimate expression of anarchy in American would arise in the land of the Alamo. I always figured on New Hampshire or maybe South Dakota. Anyway, since the Supreme Court majority says everyone is above the law, Peter Thiel must be deliriously happy and not just delirious. This is what centuries of substituting judgments for reasoning and facts has come to.

Roberts had to dismantle voting rights because the Constitution demands that the votes four ranchers in Wyoming have as much say in the composition of the Senate as 60 apartment dwellers in New York City.

So when are they gonna pass a law where private citizens can sue Evangelicals for policies that lead to things that piss us off?

Bush v. Gore was not pretty. And several folks shoulda been shot in the courtyard of the Pentagon over Iran/Contra. But the problem was not obvious.

But when Justices start to cop to it, well then....

Uh Washington, we have a problem....

Sorry, I totally disagree. All these people didn't get their lives threatened in emails, texts, phone calls and demonstrators until the advent of Trump. "Hang Mike Pence!"

The Germans thought having a cabinet with a majority of old-school conservatives would keep some guy, forget his name, in line, back in the '30s.How'd that work out.

Yes, we should just outlaw all the third parties, or barring that just imprison anyone who votes for them. If they don't have an R or a D after their name then they're not anointed by the gods of Democracy and aren't worthy to be our leaders.

Yoiu are totallly not getting the point. Party politics is absolutely at fault. Just because clearly more Republicans have been less honest in recent years does not mean it has always been the same.

And 200 years??? So are you one of those that does not believe that the Democrats were once the party of slavery? Do you seriously think all those elections then were on the up and up with the Dems. There have been southern Dems that up until the 1960s were fucking with voting rights for the entire century. Never heard of the 1965 voting right act, now gutted by the SC?

In my county, which leans very Democractic, we are having a commission to look at redisticting county districts. They appointed a head, who is a big muckety-muck at the local university (our equivalent of big business), but other than him, they won't say who else is on that commitee and won't until their first meeting. Why? What do they have to hide?

I am a liberal progressive independent who lives in a town rife with faux progressives, fake liberals, and looney leftists™, who has seen more unecessary buldings built with alleged (but not actually) affordable units for disadvantaged people by a Dem mayor who claimed to be part of the Green New Deal, and has destroyed more literal green space than the last 5 previous mayors combined.

I'm not saying that the Repubs would do better - they wouldn't. But to say thet "Elections have been absolutely honest for 200 years" shows that you clearly don't know your histiry.

What does THAT have to do with anything? I'm not saying thet the Repubs did nothing but that whether you like it or not some Dems in the past have indeed used their power as election officials to help their own candidates win. They may mostly not be doing it now, but to say otherwise shows no knowledge of history.

I did NOT say that. In fact elsewhere here I mention that the main reason we are in the problems we have in the first place is because we essentially have only two parties in this country.

In the last two elections, the Green Party was literally helped by some Republicans, and of course the Russians (or did you forget that Stein and Michael Flynn were at a party with Putin in Russia before the election in 2016?), to siphon away some Demorcratic votes.

But the Green Party in this country is basically just a stalking horse, unlike VALID Green parties in Europe and Canada.

I am all for third parties in this country. In fact when I vote for Dems that are also on the Working Familes Party line in NY state, I vote for them as a WFP candidate.

While I hate the Republican Party more, I hate the Democractic Party almost as much for dropping the ball continuously for years now,And you know damned well than many people here are also very pissed at the Dems.
