I keep wondering if any member of this wretched hive of scum and villainy ever has a dark moment of the soul, an “OMG, what have we done? We’re the baddies.” Then I remember that if they’re working for the Grand Orange Dragon in the first place then they never possessed that capability. And then I have my own.

All this while American veterans are being robbed of their health care through massive cuts to the Veterans Administration, and active-duty military and their families are also having to deal with reductions to their healthcare. The current regime at least spares the pretense of caring for those they send to battle, but every member of Congress supporting those cuts should be tarred and feathered for their misfeasance and hypocrasy.

Everything about this is an absolutely epic clusterfuck, but just going to dwell on the undisputed facts that Trump is easing sanctions on Russian oil to mitigate price increases caused by US/Israel attacking Iran unprovoked, and the longer this drags on, the more it's going to impact oil prices which means Putin has a strong incentive to share intelligence with Iran and probably help them in other ways, which he is already doing.

I hate this. What a spectacular disaster.

Funny how things always benefit Putin. Just imagine how much worse it would be if Trump actually WERE a Russian asset!

I think Putin figured out long ago how easy it is to manipulate Trump. Same result, less effort.

It is a truism that the four most satisfying words in our language, when properly timed and delivered in the correct tone and with loud volume are "I TOLD YOU SO!"

If our idiotic don follows through with his threats of nuclear attack we may not be around very long after for us to say that blessed litany.

So why not start that chant right now and refuse to stop until the holocaust finally forces us to make that journey to what Hamlet called "The undiscovered country, from whose bourn no traveller returns". Hamlet wasn't talking about a Star Trek movie. He was talking the oblivion threatening us all right now.

Find someone today who needs to hear you say I TOLD YOU SO! Repeat it at least 10 times and then find someone else who needs the chant. Start with your family before you head down to the neighborhood bar. We are all going to end up in the same place but at least you and I won't go with a burden of repressed I TOLD YOU SO! tightening our hearts.

Iran is laying mines in the Straight of Hormuz but the US Navy decommissioned the two minesweeper ships from the Persian gulf last Sept.

Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas suggested "maybe our allies can help us out".

Which Allies? The ones Trump never consulted about this war? The ones who had to come to the defense of Greenland when he threatened to 'take it'? Or the ones he insulted from NATO?

Maybe the ones in Europe that we scolded about being more tolerant of fascists.

trump has gotten himself into a mess. He has no way to back out and he has no plan for going forward. Iran is not going anywhere. We've lost the good will of all of our mideast allies, except Israel. Russia and China are laughing their asses off while they plan the best way to seize world power. And we - the residents of the USA - are going to pay and pay and pay.

Trump is leading the way for the demise of the USA as a world power We're going the way of the Brits. In 1890. the Sun never set on the British Empire and Britannia ruled the waves. By 1950 they were an insignificant Island in the North Atlantic. Trump is on course to do us in much faster.

He won't be in office forever, and the pendulum could well swing back to sanity after he's gone. But the whole world knows now that this could happen again, as one European pol said (and I paraphrase), the next time 40,000 people in Wisconsin get upset about the price of eggs.

Trump and MAGA have exposed flaws that were always there in our system of governance. What are we going to do about them?

The electorate in this country lives in a constant state of schizophrenia vacillating left to right and right to left every four years. It doesn't help that we have a MSM machine that is very willing to help in that. You would have thought that his first term in the presidency would have cured people from believing his lies, but it seems that a fool is born every minute in this country, especially the fools who watch Faux News.

EyeQueue's avatar

Most of the electorate are droolingly stupid. And there seems nothing we can do about that.

VwllssWndr's avatar

There are things that could be done but it requires disgustingly rich people to stop wanting even more money.

EyeQueue's avatar

And there are other things we can do but we are too weak sauce.

We haven't even tried general strikes b/c ......weak sauce.

Our country is at stake. These people need to fucking *weigh it*!

Ask for receipts and tell them that reportage from Faux News doesn't count since they are an entertainment company and not a news organization.
