Are you in the South? I thought Christianity was entirely Jonathan Edwards style fire and brimstone until I moved out of the South and met some nice Episcopalians. Part of the problem is that mainline Protestants don’t typically go around proclaiming their Christian-ness like fundigelicals do, so you’ve probably met at least a few who try to practice what they read but didn’t have their association with a church emblazoned on their t-shirts.

Trump can shit all over them and they'll complain some, but then go right on voting for him. Republicans are in full-on Stockholm syndrome with Trump and there are no hostage negotiators left.
