Ditto in Cali. Brits have an offense they call ASBO, or Anti-Social Behavioral Offense, and the yobs can get a year per. Of course, most come out even more radicalized, but it gets 'em off the street for a while.

He'd look even more special with a face full of OC. IANAL, but if someone is threatening you and escape is not on option, absolutely take it to 'em. Or, as my hero Jack Reacher put it: "get your retaliation in first" If you wait to get hit first, YOU WILL LOSE! https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

I'll compromise all right. After launch a steamroller at some fascist threatening me or someone else:

1. Lead hand eye jab (go low and skip fingers into sockets)2. Strong hand palm strike to underjaw (remember- hard strike surface to soft target, soft strike to hard bony surface)3. hooking elbow strike to either jawline, you can't break your elbow hitting a human, I've tried many times

After that, when he's down, I'll compromise by only stomping one of his ankles to dust to prevent his coming after me (street leg-irons)

Sounds Fair?

Remember, this is only in case calling 911, escape, or OC spray won't work, you have to explain why you felt threatened and had to neutralize the threat

The problem with which worrywarts like Brooks, Bari Weiss, and Bret Stephens are grappling is not that speech is restricted, or that intolerance abounds. Instead, for the first time in their lives, technology and social media are allowing them to hear criticisms from which columnists and intellectuals were previously insulated. Sommers and her ilk are no longer free from the social consequences of their own mediocrity. If a principal reason we value a free marketplace of ideas is that it allows the cream to rise to the top, this is a good thing, not a bad thing!

I have lived under "the liberal fallacy" my entire life. That is to say I believe that since I can articulate what I think and how I feel while marshaling the facts as resources for that argument while making it clear I am prepared to let the other person do the same we may not agree but at least we'll understand one another. That is not how Our Friends On The Right view things. Any disagreement is perceived as an attack on their very existence and among the truly stupid people their only reaction is violence.

Eh... I read "for a start" as a colloquialism that just means "this is a thing we should do." I'm not sure anyone interprets it as exclusive.

It could easily be that I misinterpreted it. I am arguably oversensitive to intelligent people coming up with excuses not to put in the hard work to save the country.
