So all those agencies are in collusion to get more business... Like they all agreed.. everyone.. even people working for them, to say Russia did it. No one in these organizations even leaked anything saying "you know, they're lying... russia isn't behind this, we just want your dollars" ..

Come on....

Occam's Razor is your friend.

Stop stop enough of this interrogation I confess! I was jealous of Podesta's cooking and I wanted my revenge! That's why I did it. And yet still, my risotto is lumpy and bitter. Are there any real winners here?

Yes, absolutely. To me, there's no question about it--especially the bizarre results on election day. The machinators and the trolls have taken over information, and especially social media, and I absolutely believe voting machines software (if they can hack into a toaster, or a thermostat, I'm quite sure they can hack into a voting machine--or, supply pre-hacked voting machine to willing Republicans). The truly important thing to remember is this isn't a worldwide "march rightward," it's a worldwide interference by a small group of evildoers and mischiefmakers, and in the end righteousness will prevail because we're by far in the majority. We have to just keep fighting, and standing up, and not believing their false facts, their false statistics, or their false fronts.

An insider with Cyrillic metadata who worked mainly during business hours Moscow time. Riiiiiiight. No serious cybersecurity expert doubts it was the Russians. Even their deputy FM said "maybe we helped a little with Wikileaks."

OT - we interrupt your regularly scheduled evening to bring you some thoughts from journalist and columnist John Kelso:

I've been working as a journalist for various newspapers for about half a century. I've strived to get the facts right. Yes, for much of that time I've written a column, expressing opinions. But I've worked to keep it accurate. And I think over the years my journalist colleagues have done the same.So it troubles, actually scares, me that so many people don't trust the "lamestream press".Instead, many folks have taken to putting their faith in what they find in social media, particularly if what they find is what they want to believe.I'm worried that this trend will bring the country big trouble. I really do, and I don't know what do about it, except worry and hope this dangerous circumstance comes to an end.

What they can do is report facts, hold politicians' feet to the fire (be they Democrat or Republican), and keep the public informed instead of what they've been doing: chasing ad rev dollars using shallow infotainment. Become what they are supposed to be: journalists.

I understand the concern. I'd share more of it but for things like the NYT "expose" of the Clinton Foundation. A report that was bizarre with "clouds" and assorted absurd allegations that ended up being mystifyingly vague. The WaPo sends a guy to look at the Trump Foundation and finds the whole thing is a scam, a tax fraud. But NYT could not give up on the clouds. And I should worry these guys aren't getting a break? I do worry about news and reporting and all of that. But a lot of "news" operations let the country and their own profession down. But fine. There will be plenty to report in the new administration. They'll do a great job. And besides, don't both sides do it? (or whatever phrase they trot out to compare apples and turds). Given how the media is so sure Ryan is really a "wonk" who cares deeply about the plutocr ... er the common folks, we can be sure his carefully laid out plan to destroy ACA, Medicare and (the Holy Grail) Social Security, will be well-described by stenographers who couldn't balance a checkbook because ... math ... but will ooh and aah at whatever Ryan and his flunky's say. I sympathize with Kelso, but maybe the problem isn't just with a populace that does not appreciate the hard work they do (it is hard, and they do track down stuff) -- maybe the populace has come to have some reason to question them. Were these worth examining?http://joshuafoust.com/this...Hardly as entertaining as email, I know.

(so, yes, I'm PO'd)
