"Well, let's start with the silly stuff...and the idea that a child could march into a doctor's office and get gender surgery on their own is silly. Parents have to approve medical care for their kids after discussions with expert doctors... and if you think that a ten-year-old can pay for gender surgery out of their own pocket then you know some pretty rich ten-year-olds.
This is the sort of thing that candidates like my opponent say so you will get distracted and won't look at what they really have in mind for your kids.
Many of you have kids with diabetes and Republicans don't want their insulin to be $35.
Many of you have daughters, and Republicans think that if they are carrying a dangerous pregnancy that they should have to suffer almost to death before it can be ended, or maybe not even then.
And that's just your kids' health.
How about help with student loans so your kids can get a better start in life?
How about making the roads and bridges that your kids travel on safe?
How about extending high-speed internet access so your kids can learn more no matter where they live?
Because we Democrats have been making those happen and the Republicans - like my opponent - are swearing to stop them.
When people like my opponent lie to you about threats to your kids ask them about why they are so anxious to distract you from what they want to take from them."
The kids are usually given tylenol by the nurse. I am forbidden to give so much as a cough drop, but when I see kids suffering through a cold in class, I make them some mint tea. I find that more helpful than most medications, and I am allowed to do it.
This possibility TERRIFIES me. I'm old enough to remember an Ohio that was not only reliably blue all the time, but when we had not only John Glenn but Howard Metzenbaum representing us, may their memories be a blessing. Sen. Brown is one of the good ones we cannot afford to lose.
RN, I am concentrating on phone banking & postcarding about Issue 1. But I will do what I can for Sherrod next year, bearing in mind that I also have to help Bob Casey & Jacky Rosen.
NC was purple fifteen years ago. It's hard to believe my own idiot state of South Carolina had a Democratic governor 23 years ago. Now the South has just turned into a fucking cesspool of dumb, Evangelical, redneck hellhole.
Years ago The New Yorker did an extended article about the Koch family turning their might and wealth on NC to turn it red. I was dismayed but it looks like, all these years later, the Kochs succeeded. Where are the liberals with tons of cash to back up progressives, I wonder...
I love this story. He's such an asshole he caused Two Tone Ska. It was his dumb racist comments that caused the UK to do the Rock Against Racism concerts. Which brought together reggae and punk musicians. Which created The Specials and the whole Two Tone Ska movement. He's such an asshole they had to create a whole new genre of music to make it right.
What I find odd about Clapton is that most musicians are NOT racists, and Clapton loves the blues (music created by black people!). That's always struck a nerve with me.
Hell, Frank Sinatra, an elderly man from NJ wasn't even a racist.
Agreed--at the time when Clapton was leaving the Yardbirds, graffiti all over London appeared that said "Clapton is God" and the other Yardbirds had a theory that Clapton himself wrote it.
"But in theory, under this radical amendment that’s being proposed, a doctor could perform a sex-change procedure on one of my children without me even knowing it."
It's true -- one morning you're dropping your daughter off at elementary school and that afternoon you're picking up some six-foot burly dude named Steve. It's happened to him hundreds of times.
"Ohio voters rejected normal Democrat Tim Ryan for JD Vance."
That was heart-breaking.
A template suggestion for Democratic candidates:

That'll do for me.
IMHO, zero JD Vances per state would be more than enough. I voted for Ryan, and I'll vote for whichever D runs.
I say go ahead and make that election a referendum on Trump. Even if Ohio went for him last time, there's no guarantee it'll happen again.
Let's say TFG drops dead in the next few months, who will the GQP turn to?
JD Vance.
"My school needs a permission slip to give my child an aspirin."
His kids' school is not handing out aspirin anymore than sex changes, because it's linked to Reye's syndrome.
Actually, my school has a part-time nurse who CAN dispense medication to students. They just do not want untrained people dispensing it willy-nilly.
Do I need to add that our nurse does stop short at gender re-assignment surgery?
But probably they don't dispense aspirin, unless things have changed since my kinds.

LaRose?
Gilbert Bécaud has entered the chat.

And, what's more, fuck Chuck Todd. Sooper Smarmy, and way too big for his britches, IMO. Quite the king-maker.
Ryan sucked. If he had run as a proud Democrat he would have won.
I'm an Ohioan. Lived here 65 years. A farming community in SW Ohio to be exact. It's always been a racist
shithole. Sherrod Brown has always fought that battle and knows how to win. Polls are dogshit. Polls this far out are runny dogshit.
Your take on polls is dead on. No one should be wetting their pants over anything or anybody at this point. Nor counting chickens for that matter.

Fuck, 2024 is going to be busy...
I love Ohio, but the direction the politics have taken there in the last 10-15 years is fucking embarrassing.
Me, too. Remember when we were a purple state? Not so long ago.
Heck, Many ways has become more wingnutty than neighboring Indiana
You are making us look bad over here
Sorry. I live in North Carolina at the moment and have never voted for a Republican, so I guess I’m doing my part?

“I’m a Green Beret, a conservative, a man of faith, and I’m not afraid of a fight.”
And you excel at creating a fight where none should exist.
OT?
Clapton is an asshole

The least good of the former yardbirds guitarists.
Derivative blues scales played slowly
And an asshole

Ah. The soundtrack of my early 80s
Specials. Beat. Selector
When Hendrix hit the scene Eric had his hair permed to look like more like him and that told me everything I needed to know about him.
I'm on Team Jeff Beck.
DUANE ALLMAN. Imagine how good he would have gotten had he lived to be an older man.
Same. Also with Rick Derringer.
Beck was a far more important artist IMO, I never understood the devotion Clapton got.

Wouldn’t be surprised
