David Clarke is the sheriff of Milwaukee County in Wisconsin, and he has been a hero to Wingnut America ever since he ran radio ads a couple years back encouraging people to arm themselves instead of calling 911. On Tuesday, he played to his real constituency, the Fox News audience, when host Brian Kilmeade asked Clarke to comment on
I grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee. We had a socialist mayor (for a while). The city/county was, undoubtedly, de facto segregated. But at least the assholes celebrating the segregation were white.
I'm a long-time expatriate (been gone since 1969), but when did the Sheriff's Department adopt uniforms that look like a bad version of George Lucas bad guys?
Terrance Walker ran away from the cop who killed him. Michael Brown supposedly ran toward the cop who killed him. Tamir Rice was sitting on a park bench when a cop shot him, and Eric Garner was standing still when the cops strangled him. What, exactly, is the proper response if you want to survive a police encounter as a black man?
Can't really tell shit from the video - not that that would stop a Fucks Gnus commentator - so who knows if the shooting was a "good" one.
Wingnutty cop says fathers ought to be there to teach their kids to respect the cops, and not run away. Mayor DeBlasio tells his kid exactly that, and the cops go apeshit.

Then when a young black man in Oklahoma (allegedly) takes that advice and arms himself, Clarke flip-flops to "in a situation where a gun is introduced by a suspect, yeah, [police] shoot first, stop the threat, and then ask questions later".
Fortunately I'm white so there is no lesson for me to learn here.
Say, you know who else used to blame black families for their kids' problems (before all those stupid wimmen started up with the rape allegations)?
NOT,K
Oh, for the love of fuck.

Who would think that "Margaritaville" would have such power in fucking Milwaukee.
Um, white, you know?

I never expected "Cherchez la femme" to become a wingnut meme.

You stole that from Don Lemon

I'm waiting for the tiebreaker.

The best response is to be born to white parents.

I was not aware that running from the police is also a capital crime.
