“These are the orcs at the gate. You are not called to love the barbarian horde that is planning to break into your city and, you know, pillage, plunder, rape, and mutilate you and your people. You don't love that horde. That is your enemy and you pray."

I thought we were all soy-boy beta cucks and blue-haired lesbians who are generally weaklings and suffer from having too much empathy? Now we're literal monsters that want to "rape, pillage, and mutilate" some unnamed group of people for "reasons" so we must be killed first? Which one is it, you sociopathic motherfuckers?

I really wish they would give up the pretense and just admit they want to murder their fellow Americans because we think and believe differently than they do. Because we want all people to be able to live with dignity and afford basic necessities. Drop the faux-Christian bullshit and just say it with your whole chest. We're not a threat, especially in the physical sense, they just want to kill us because we don't subscribe to their racist, misogynistic bullshit.

If any nut with a gun does go after Talarico, these guys will be every bit as innocent as Bill O’Reilly was, because they remembered to say “with prayers” after “I hope God kills him.”

To be fair, there's a number of commenters on this here mommy blog and recipe hub who have used the "with votes" dodge to get around the commenting rules. Of course, we're pretty unlikely to be spawning any nuts with guns to act out on anything we say here.

“One Tolkien over the line”? Wow! Somebody got a good night’s sleep and a 2nd cup of coffe

Also, in light of turnabout being fair play, can the rules for commenting radicals be amended to include the wishing of smiting upon our enemies, as long as we regretfully, reluctantly, eventually add “with prayers”?

People here already use the "with votes" clause for that very purpose.

I know, there’s but there’s something about the with prayers version that carries too much more weight.

I'm trying to comprehend why people vote Republican???? Make this make sense!

They are some of the worst scums that have ever existed...

These clowns are walking DV & RO poster boys, with appropriate Grindr accounts.

This isn’t really all that radical a thought among mainstream denominations, what with God being a spiritual being who transcends human categories…”

Not so fast, the Bible say that God made us in his image. That means They literally have a vagina AND a penis.

You’re welcome.

For decades I've loved the way Republican right-wing so-called "christians" take every position that is the direct opposite of what Jesus preached. And then they claim that they love Jesus and the Christian message.

Now, I'm just a Unitarian-Universalist atheist, but I've waited for so long for a politician who actually is a Christian and knows and understands not only the words but the meaning of the New Testament to become a contender, as a Democrat, for a powerful seat in Congress, or a state Governor's Mansion, or the White House. Someone other than John Fugelsang, for example.

And now we've got James Talarico who is MAGAGOP Republicans' worst nightmare: a Christian who actually believes in Christianity, and a Democrat who actually believes in democracy, and a contender who actually has a good chance of winning a Senate seat from Texas.

What a scenario! Jesus couldn't himself couldn't have come up with a better one.

I would have highlighted the following passage for a different reason — “if it would not be within God's will to do so, stop him by any means necessary” — they’re saying they would defy god’s will… heresy!!!

Oh yes, they're very concerned about people hurting children sexually. That's why they worship a child rapist and defend pedophiles all the time. They cheer the bombing of an elementary school because they care about children so much.

What's scary about these "Christian" nationalists is how cheerfully they declare that Democrats are not merely wrong, but are "demons" from hell and must be, not defeated, but eradicated in the most apocalyptic terms. These people are sick, very sick.

A double entendre + pun doesn't get much better than "...one Tolkien over the line". Time to go get me a few "tolks" under the line.

When an actual piece of shit, masquerading as a human prays that "they be like dung on the ground" ...I have to say, "WTAF are you on about?"
