For decades I've loved the way Republican right-wing so-called "christians" take every position that is the direct opposite of what Jesus preached. And then they claim that they love Jesus and the Christian message.
Now, I'm just a Unitarian-Universalist atheist, but I've waited for so long for a politician who actually is a Christian and knows and understands not only the words but the meaning of the New Testament to become a contender, as a Democrat, for a powerful seat in Congress, or a state Governor's Mansion, or the White House. Someone other than John Fugelsang, for example.
And now we've got James Talarico who is MAGAGOP Republicans' worst nightmare: a Christian who actually believes in Christianity, and a Democrat who actually believes in democracy, and a contender who actually has a good chance of winning a Senate seat from Texas.
What a scenario! Jesus couldn't himself couldn't have come up with a better one.
I would have highlighted the following passage for a different reason — “if it would not be within God's will to do so, stop him by any means necessary” — they’re saying they would defy god’s will… heresy!!!
Oh yes, they're very concerned about people hurting children sexually. That's why they worship a child rapist and defend pedophiles all the time. They cheer the bombing of an elementary school because they care about children so much.
