All things he has never done before. His wife left him. He was complaining of a very bad headache and went to the ER. There they found he had a brain tumor. Once removed all those impulses went away and be went back to who he used to be.

Then they'll come for the Scientologists, and, yeah, fuck them, because scientologists. And then maybe the Jehovah's Witnesses, because they won't salute the flag or vomit up the Pledge of Allegiance in home room at school or serve in the military.
By that time, some of the Catholics may be getting a *mite* nervous, but they'll tell themselves their buddies with whom they've fought the culture wars for decades would never hurt *them*. They're good people.
Then you've got your Mormons and Unitarians and Quakers and Amish (same complaints as JWs) and Mennonites and other smaller groups to take care of.

In my favorite D&D campaign I ever played in, I played a Lawful Good cleric who argued that because humans, dwarves and elves had free will, and could turn to evil, orcs, because they were intelligent, had the capacity to reject evil, and basically ordered the survivors of a huge battle (between an army of men and dwarves versus a horde of evil men and orcs) to treat their enemy dead with the same respect they treated their own.
He was a VERY different kind of cleric (and I also had this vision in my head of a orcish monastic order dedicated to not being evil)
In the end our party pretty much ascended to godhood, having defeated the Big Bad in the climactic battle and became the Guardians of The Mountains.
But then I'm a damned heathen who believes that that Jesus dude they claim to follow would be the first person they would crucify today, just like their spritual brethren (in Douglas Adam's words) "..nailed him to a tree 2000 years ago for saying we should all be nice to each other." (HHG4 "So long and thanks for all the fish" )
