When I lived in Colorado, the people in the mountains were vehement gummint haters. Leave us alone! Lower my taxes! Health inspectors (for septic) will be shot! Etc. Until there was a forest fire. Then they were all "where are the slurry bombers?!" Ya know it takes a certain depth of government to own and operate slurry bombers that may be needed only a few times a year.
Well you can hardly blame me for misunderstanding. Wonkette should never have accepted your submission for publication. Next time please provide full footnotes, bibliography, index, abstract, and two double-blind peer reviews.
They better get their butts out and vote in record numbers in 2014. Trouble is, history says they won't. Americans have been so beaten into submission, distracted, dumbed down and confused that it's highly possible that even the blatant BS from the current GOP won't be enough to motivate them to the polls. Even under ideal circumstances Americans are shitty at doing their civic duty, let alone when times are tough. I hope I'm wrong and the current transgressions are a bridge too far, but I wouldn't count on it.
I'm not even sure they believe half their BS, they're just litigious assholes. I live across town from that Safeway and walking distance to her old HQ. I used to drive by on the way home from work to see all the idiot tea bags protesting out front every night. i learned to really despise those people thanks to the way they carried on not only during the ACA debate with their ugly personal attacks and the way they stalked her any time she tried to go to a restaurant or a movie, but with the way many of them didn't even let up with the vitriol even after she was shot= a bunch of hateful small minded jackasses
But the right of Americans to drive huge cars and SUV's is in the constitution, so it had to be handed down by Jeebus. Bring the Prius, Volt and diesel car drivers before HUAC.
