why are you changing the subject again? your country is incarcerating children, forcing them to carry their rapists children to term and allowing guns to be so widespread that any mentally unstable idiot can shoot entire classrooms of kids.

Well, that's something I suppose.

Good correction, thank you.

Yes. “Abomination” is a word that comes to mind. That a supposedly august and informed body of judges haven’t overturned all child-murder by the State under the auspice of the 8th Amendment is an abomination and a travesty of justice.

"why are you changing the subject again?"

Sorry, but flag-waving Amerilards operating under "how DARE an outsider criticize MY country" rules often do that sort of thing. It's sickening I know.

Ah yes, England. Our much more sensible Uncle. When it comes to criminal punishment, treat children like children-- what a concept! FFS.

Gah. Actual children need to be fed, and clothed, and educated and housed. And you can't even send them to the salt mines for 16 years! At least in the US. For now.

My last algebra class was…two decades ago. Somehow I can still solve for x, even x AND y!

Just don’t ask me to do trigonometry or calculus. I only passed that class literally because the teacher liked me. (Gods bless you Ms. Poole, wherever you are!)

I learned last night from watching QI that they didn’t actually bake the birds in the pie. They baked the crust, then put the birds in, so that when the pie was opened at the table, it was more or less delightful chaos.

(I love Sandi Toksvig. I’m glad she’s home and doing better.)

The people who believe it's OK to lock a 10 year old up for life, are the same people who believe an 18 year old is too fragile and unformed to handle a book like "Beloved."
