There's something I don't quite get about the progressive set, where they don't seem to understand that the incremental approach is usually by necessity rather than preference. Have these people never tried to accomplish things in the face of opposition, obstacles, and limitations?

If these people needed a new car, would they even understand that factors such as "budget" and "probable fuel and repair costs" might impact what they can or should get? 1993 and I bought my first car, and I saved $4000 by learning to drive stick rather than get automatic. Sometimes you have to make allowances for reality to get what you want.

Totally neither here nor there, but at this moment on "The High Chaparral" it's an episode all about black cavalry soldiers, and it seems to be a good-faith effort to expose 1960s audiences to the notion of, black men are just as honorable and courageous as white men can be. But it's pissing me off that everyone keeps saying "Calvary" every. single. time. It's like the director would scream "CUT!", get out of his chair, and stomp around and fume whenever anyone actually pronounced "cavalry" correctly. This has nothing to do with voting rights but I had to complain to someone.

Would add that this "voting holiday because it sounds AWESOME" instead of "mail-in ballots because they would solve the problem very simply" reminds me of other policy disputes I have with the progressive set.

Wisconsin GOP making people choose between risking their lives and voting. Again.

Emphasizing that the Very Stable Genius came out and said the quiet part out loud, again: Trump says Republicans would ‘never’ be elected again if it was easier to vote

Wisconsin residents: here's how to request absentee ballots for future elections (August and November), but know that you probably have to re-request unless you are permanently confined. Clarified below. https://elections.wi.gov/vo...

If the seniors are scared off and Karofsky wins, Vos & Fitzgerald will bitch about a flawed election and explain how it wasn't a mandate and the dignity of the court deserves better and Waaaaah. They might just have to choke a bitch.

They keep saying it out loud: if more people vote, Republicans will lose. How can we even pretend we have a legitimate government anymore when they're intentionally having sham elections?

If that wasn't the truth you'd getchersef banhammered. But speaking truth to power is pretty damned grumpy, gramps!

Yes actually. The counties up north that are republican held have very few cases of corona-they see it as a Madison/Milwaukee problem. I'm sure they will still be fully staffed for election day.

Rule of thumb - for constrained reporting - 21% reported cases hospitalized,10% (2% total) fatal. That's BC and we're not overwhelmed. we canceled all elective surguries ~10 days ago to free staff and beds.

My desire to see these people come to serious harm cannot be overstated. I can’t really say any more than that. This is truly vile, but then, so much of what these people do is that it’s just the new normal, and that’s even more vile.

There are going to be a lot more than a million infected. There probably already are.

And the second densest city in the country is doing much better than many places that didn’t take action. It’s almost like quarantines work, and we’re not doing this for nothing.
