Why don't we all agree that the next time any of us have to renew our driver's license, we are all 6' 3", 215 lbs. Why the hell not.

This doesn't surprise me. Nor did Nikki Haley's statements that the Social Security/Medicare age of 65 is way, way too low.

The labor shortage right now is very real. I saw a mention in an article about six months ago that the US Department of Labor estimates that between 16-24 Million Americans left the labor force during COVID. That startled me. I've seen it confirmed elsewhere, but steadfastly ignored in polite conversation. Much more acceptable to say people are just lazy and getting fat on the dole.

So I've been expecting attacks on Social Security, Medicare, child labor laws, enforcement of labor laws in general. The uptick in outcry to "Secure Our Borders" should not be taken as a desire to stop people from coming in to America to work at exploitative and unlawful jobs. It's to maintain and increase the danger premium, so such workers don't get ideas they have leverage.

What's happened has swung that leverage back toward workers, from owners. Not even very far. But one can never underestimate the savage viciousness of entrenched Capital. That, as too many have learned, is a mistake that can be fatal.
