I'm pretty sure I'm actually living in a swamp at this point. The snakes and alligators and humidity and mosquitos are getting the best of me.

Thank you! The heat, humidity, and work are still killing me, but at least Trump is getting killed in the polls, so I'll take that as a good omen!

When Reagan left office the Savings and Loans had collapsed, the stock market collapsed, it was difficult to sell a home, and there was a recession that lasted for years. Republicans predicted that Clinton would kill the US economy, and now no Republican remembers how amazing the economy was under Bill Clinton, and how awful it was during Bush's presidency, and then how it improved incredibly under Obama. It's ALMOST like Democrats are better with the economy or something.

You might also want to mention to your dad that Trump LOVES Russia, and all good Americans hate commies. I find it so disconcerting to listen to Republicans cheer Russia at Trump's rallies.

I remember how good things were under Clinton, and I was too young to vote, too young to even want to care the slightest bit about politics. I really do not understand where his attitude comes from! He's pro-choice, pro-science, against discrimination, has nothing good to say about Trump, doesn't respect Republican Congressmen who won't do their damn jobs, thinks Bush Jr was an idiot and a warmonger, but he's also defensive of the 2nd amendment, HATES cops (like, ALL of them), and thinks Hillary is incompetent. I'd try to convince him she's not, but I'm not going ANY further down that rabbit hole. He said he'll 'have to vote for her', and I think that's as good as I'm going to get.

Republicans have done a great job of demonizing Hillary Clinton, and Jimmy Carter. They haven't been quite as effective with Barack Obama, yet a sizable portion of the adult population still believes he's a Muslim and wasn't born in the USA. Sigh...Republicans really have lowered the level of political discourse in this country.

And now they're paying for it. Next election, they have a choice. Either they try to go back to the way things were before they started turning right wing shock jockies into serious political pundits, or they embrace the new insanity they've created for themselves. I can't decide which would have better results for us.

It's too bad you can't pit them against each other and leave you alone.

I'm hoping they continue to double down on the crazy, but I also hope they continue to lose.

It's like I've been saying since that rigged class president election: This whole business of world economic trade, natural resource management, human rights, and territorial disputes are just one big popularity contest!
