Tell us things! Two big stories related to #MeToo hit this afternoon. One is a story in the New York Times by Maggie Haberman and Amy Chozick, about how Hillary Clinton, during her 2008 campaign, "shielded" her personal faith adviser, Burns Strider, from allegations of repeated sexual harassment against a 30-year-old campaign worker. It's a sucky story, and it's one of those stories that's bound to keep coming out as more and more women come forward to tell their truth. The truth of the "shielding" is a bit more complicated -- instead of firing him, as some advised her to do, Clinton punished him by "[docking him] several weeks’ pay and [ordering him] to undergo counseling." Meanwhile, the victim of Striders' yuck touches (reportedly, handsy back massages, forehead kisses) and harass-y emails was moved to a different job away from YuckToucher McJesusPants. Later on, Strider worked for liberal rabble-rouser David Brock, and he got fired from that gig too, partially for being handsy. Surprise!
Everyone on a political campaign signs NDAs about internal campaign matters. More generally, this is to prevent internal campaign gossip from spreading to the press and creating political headaches during elections.
I voted for Hillary, but thanks for playing. I wasn't talking about the NRA, rape, corporate taxes, or personal taxes. I am asking why, if she was such a liberal, she surrounded herself with Republican Lites? That's all.
It's not a ridiculous standard...she talked to the guys, right? She knew which way they leaned. Don't kid yourself. Hillary was right where she wanted to be in the political spectrum. Right of center, which is where the whole DNC currently resides.
Fucking dipshit over there doesn't seem to get the idea that the Young Turks the media jagoffs took their name from a historical group that was, among other things, responsible for the Armenian Genocide. He probably doesn't even know the Rod Stewart tune.
Please don't, every day is already chock-full of cognitive dissonance without being forced to acknowledge that Kardashians exist, let alone making me defend their slapping the shit out of someone on TV.
Is it ablelist to assume that people with disabilities are somehow implicitly less capable of being perverted asshole shitstains? It seems to me like the fact that he's legally blind makes it a bit worse, because you know he was milking the fact that most people would NEVER suspect/accuse a disabled person of deliberately being a pervert...but am I then being prejudiced by not expecting assholes to occur at roughly the same rate as in the able population?
I'd say Hillary's not wanting to re-instate Glass-Steagall and her reluctance to raise the minimum wage quickly is pretty right of center. She didn't want fracking bans, either. Richard Fucking Nixon wanted a straight up public health care option. We got the ACA, which is going away, inch by inch. The ONLY reason the platform is as "liberal" as it is, is that the Dems listened to Bernie Sanders(who I did not vote for, except in the primaries), not because they're anything but right of center: https://www.washingtonpost....
Who knows what their platform will be in 2020. I have a guess: We hate Trump.
Since I heard the words come out of her mouth during the debates, I would assume that that means I have a sense of hearing, not that I'm gullible. Maybe go look in a mirror.
It's always doubleplus good to give predators a second chance. /s
I loved that character.

"Cillizza" -- sounds like a venereal disease.

VD LIBELZ. Venereal diseases can sometime be fixed. Cillizza - not so much.
Well, it's Monday for sure now.
Jesus, these comment sections get all nutty after they've been up for a while.

They start off funny with the regulars before the wackos descend. YMMV.
