For next week's Movie Night showing of 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐧 I am going to open up the trivia to everyone. If you have trivia for The Maltese Falcon and want to quiz your fellow movie watchers, please do! I just request that you try to keep the timing of the question to what is happening in the movie. Also no spoilers. I am going to be too busy to do trivia so it will be a great help. If you ever wanted to be a Wonkette Trivia master here's your chance.

Your mention of Stacey Dash led me down a rabbit hole for a bit. Apparently, she forswore politics 4 years ago. She's now 57, having been married 4 times, and has attempted to apologize for her FFOTUS support and several homophobic and transphobic she made on social media over the years. She aired her dirty laundry about getting addicted to opioids and how she beat the addiction...

She is apparently still as shallow as the kid she played in "Clueless".

We had an outage for 2 1/2 hours a while ago. The trout hatchery down the highway a few miles lost all their fish, or most of them, because their backup generators also failed to come online.

I am willing your precious loved ones to remain safe amidst the increasing aggression.

This is fucking ugly. But the fact remains that this is something that's been fomenting for quite some time. It's a conflict that MUST be resolved and that's not going to happen diplomatically. That simply isn't possible.

We MUST take a stand. We HAVE to for our OWN sake.

Agreed.

I'm just surprised that NYC is not the place, (but demonizing CA is probably easier for the MAGATs).

Expand full comment
Always Be Ithacating's avatar

I think the thing that bothers a lot of MAGAs the most is that everywhere they look, the TV is full of non-white people and other groups they don't look. It's not all-white like it was when they were younger, or maybe where they live still is. In their minds, sports and music have been taken over, too – hell they can't even have country music or NASCAR to themselves.

So they've enjoyed raging at HollyWeird for a long time, and Trump knows it.

The annual Lambeth Country Show featured some star names this year - in the form of vegetables.

The free festival, which takes place in south London's Brockwell Park, included entries to its carved vegetables competition, with sculptures portraying famous figures such as Dolly Parton and the Pope.

There were some excellent puns accompanying the artwork, including 'Mo Salad' and a papal 'Cornclave'.

Amazon made a "Carbon Pledge" in 2019.

From 2019 to 2023, Amazon has increased its U.S. air freight pollution by 67% (average annual growth of 15%), reflecting a deliberate decision to bypass emissions reduction initiatives with an increased aviation focus. Last year, air freight generated more than 42% of the carbon emissions of a package’s journey in the U.S.

From 2019 to 2023, Amazon’s delivery van carbon dioxide emissions grew over 190%, and its heavy-duty truck emissions grew by 51%. Heavy-duty trucks comprise the second largest share of U.S. dock-to-door emissions, with 37% of each package’s carbon output.

Amazon’s U.S. inbound and domestic marine shipping emissions increased 26% in 2023 compared to 2019. The company has not announced plans for the transition of this sector to zero emissions.

In 2023, Amazon Logistics U.S. dock-to-door delivery pollution generated 5.8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (+18% average year-over-year since 2019).
