Booker on mistakes of the Democratic Party: "The biggest mistake is not centering people enough. A lot of people voted for Donald Trump because they trusted him and didn't trust the Democrats could deliver for them."

I beg your fucking pudding?

I know he's supposed to do this, I understand that as an elected politician he's not able to say "they voted for Trump because he promised to hurt people they hate" but... really? They trusted a man who said tariffs would be his solution to the high cost of childcare to look out for them?

Not that I’m aware of?

The kitty that is in Ferris’s lap is called Axl, and that tabby kitty is Wonkette Movie Night’s mascot.

You’ll find Axl hiding someplace or maybe not hiding in every Wonkette Movie Night movie poster.

Holy shit, this worked! If my comments seemed more typo prone lately, it's because the S pen to my S9 has been acting up. It keeps writing a stroke even after I lift the stylus from the screen. (If anyone has ever used a fountain pen and there was a hair or piece of lint stuck to the nib, this was like that.)

Went online - saw someone suggest smacking the S pen against something. It worked!

Taste the Best Restaurants in St. Louis

Featuring Ian Froeb's "STL 100" - the 100 best restaurants in St. Louis.

April 10, 7 pm, St. Louis Science Center

I'm not allowed to go anywhere that could possibly be described as "not an essential activity of daily life", such as restaurants or festivals or theaters or protest marches. Even though on paper I'm innocent because I haven't been tried yet, I am not allowed to do anything that could remotely be considered "fun" because "Innocent until proven guilty" is just a theory. Why is that, I wonder? The judge said "I 'might' be a danger to the community, but they have zero evidence of that, and they let me go to supermarkets and hospitals and libraries where there are hundreds or thousands of people, and I haven't hurt anyone yet. I've never hurt anyone EVER, but apparently going to a festival or eating in a restaurant is something I can't be trusted to do, even though I've done those things hundreds of times in my life without any problem other than the fact that I often spend too much money at those places.

I read about a man who was in JAIL for SEVEN YEARS waiting for trial, because his public defenders kept quitting, which resets the clock and the whole process starts over. And he ended up being AQUITTED! But he lost 7 years of his life, plus his job, his car, and his family, because he couldn't afford a private attorney. I had to fire my first attorney in 2023, which also reset the clock, but fortunately I was retired, owned my home, and my family has money - but even so there could be another postponement because the prosecutor does not want to go to trial because she knows she will lose.

Various entities within the federal government specialize in this shit, strategy, risk, vulnerability, forethought, cause and effect, action and consequence...

Maybe they got fired...

In April 2025, while most of the world was clutching pearls over trade war tit-for-tat tariffs, China calmly walked over to the supply chain and yanked out a handful of critical bolts. The bolts are made of dysprosium, terbium, tungsten, indium and yttrium—the elements that don’t make headlines but without which your electric car doesn’t run, your fighter jet doesn’t fly, and your solar panels go from clean energy marvels to overpriced roofing tiles. They’re minerals that show up on obscure government risk registers right before wars start or cleantech projects get quietly cancelled...

What China did wasn’t a ban...They called it export licensing...make no mistake: this was a surgical strike...These licenses give Beijing control over not just where these materials go, but how fast they go, in what quantity, and to which politically convenient customers...

I had to work yesterday so missed the protest in our valley, which I hear was huge. My friend and I, who also worked, held signs standing on the roundabout nearby after work and we got a ton of positive feedback! It felt great. I got home too late for the movie but maybe I'll watch it tonight.
