The devastation in the areas affected by the fires is extremely sad. I just hope that there's no loss of life, and the loss of historical and cultural materials is kept to a minimum.
It's one thing when the fires were small and somewhat contained, but these fires are now resembling the devastating fires that hit Napa and Sonoma a few years ago. Many historic wineries destroyed along with their vineyards.
It's going to take a long time for the Bordeaux region to recover. But this is what pushes markets. Some people will benefit from the disaster, and some will never recover from it.
Farmers, no matter what they grow and produce, always live at the mercy of nature. The bad thing is that too many farmers in the US don't take climate change seriously until an event like this hits them directly. Even then, most of them will not change their farming practices to meet the new climate needs.
The economics of scarcity? Except Napa had to trash the entire fire year vintage due to smoky taste. I thought they should have double distilled it all for a nice, smoky brandy.

I mean the name alone is a huge clue.
One can take an "informed approach" to one's own gender. Take some gender studies courses.
But the only approach you should take to somebody else's gender is accepting that they know themselves better than you ever could.

It does depend on how close to the winery the fire gets. But hot, dry summers usually make for good vintages. Fires tend to make the good wines rare.
Went to a tasting room in Oregon that tried to promote their smoky Cabernet after a bad fire year. Nope, no thanks.
