Pullman is the definition of likable.

The first time I saw him, he was holding a post-coitak electric mixer after some REALLY kinky sex in Ruthless People. That movie had real talent in screen, it took a lot to stand out.

Also seems like someone who enjoys their bakin' time

Dropping in, I saw this movie once on TV, wasn't impressed except with the croc. Oh yeah, Stan Winston made the Alien Queen and the full sized T rex for Jurassic Park. Also, he did the creatures for the very odd Invaders From Mars remake the same year Aliens came out.

"the very odd Invaders From Mars remake'

This sucked...the OG is a classic.

Oops, there's a dead person

Before Mariska Hargitay hit the big time.

What famed actress was her mother ?

David N. Brown's avatar

I understand her father was Mickey Hargitay, who played Hercules in several films. As I recall, Mansfield starred with him in Hercules And The Hydra. I saw it a while back but don't really remember much about it. That's always a very, VERY bad sign.

Parakeetist's avatar

Jayne Mansfield?

ziggywiggy's avatar

Correct!

Mariska Hargitay's mother was the iconic 1950s and 1960s Hollywood star and sex symbol, Jayne Mansfield. Mansfield was a major box-office draw, a famous Playboy Playmate, and a prominent pop-culture figure of her era. Tragically, Mansfield died in a 1967 car crash when Hargitay was just three years old.

BillEGoatSmile's avatar

Omagerd, I forgot she shows up in this!

Like Joan Crawford or sumthin'?

zuludaddy (SEAMONKEY!)'s avatar

wait,

wouldn't she still be her mother *after* she hit the big time also too?

ziggywiggy's avatar

The movie was before Mariska hit the big time you silly man.

You people demand so many extra words and just don't know what I mean dammit!

Damn it. This is one of those facts I know I've heard before, but can never retain.

(I'm reconsidering my Boston Whaler ID from earlier - a knockoff?)

So many awesome "that guy" actors in this movie. In addition to Bill Pullman and Bridget Fonda, keep your eyes out for Detective Benson from Law and Order: SVU, the head Thermian from Galaxy Quest and Adam Arkin.

twinsbrewer's avatar

Arkin be COOL

Consummate professionals.

Well, now we know for sure the movie is set in the early 1970's. Partridge Family?

Younger son and I love this movie. We love all tongue in cheek horror films but this tops the list.

I like movies where a big creature just starts eating people.

WeaverSix's avatar

That’s why I watch the Jurassic Park movies. You can always count on seeing bad guys get eaten by dinosaurs.
