And their customers, some of them, are starting to realize that all those magical benefits from AI may not be materializing, so maybe they won't pay gigantic billions of dollars for it, in future. Those customers are also price-sensitive, and many are already switching to cheaper models not made by the AI biggies. The whole industry is counting on massive, almost vertical, and practically unlimited growth. The minute somebody hesitates about ponying up money, or that growth starts to flatten, the story will unravel.
AI and the data centers to enable it is being pursued chiefly as the ultimate engine of tyranny and control by the failing capitalist elite, to defend their privilege and domination. That's the point of AI that they aren't really saying out loud. To run the surveillance, to run the murder bots, etc.
