I remember seeing The Frighteners in the theater in 1996.

There was only 3 of us in the theater at 1pm on a saturday.

I thought it was OK.

It was filmed in New Zealand with Peter Jackson directing.

The judge was played by John Austin, who had brought his stepson Sean to the set.

Sean Astin talks about how meeting Peter then landed him the role of Samwise in Lord of the Rings later on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmbCMzJYPOQ

Patty Duke, Sean's mother, had several lovers in a row. It took a DNA test to show that Sean's biological father is Michael Tell (who was renting one of Patty's rooms and they had a flash marriage that lasted a short while) and not John Astin or Desi Arnaz Jr.

There is a blooper in the movie.

Peter Dobson's character (he has been killed and is now a ghost) at one point yells "You gotta help me, Mike."

Michael J Fox's character is named Frank.

Republicans have such a deep bench of stupid – it constantly amazes me.

I watched some of the Merrick Garland Clown Barbecue hearing last week and, besides the usual clowns, there were all these new (to me) right wing assholes trying for their Fox News fundraising moment. Of course there was the usual Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz yelling their lies and bullshit – but there were also people like the asshole Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R) NJ bludgeoning Garland with the idiot question of "Are Catholics extremists of not!?".

Just once I'd like to see one of these witnesses being abused by the Republican clowns sit up and punch back. But I guess that would make the clowns happy and be just what they want.

This is probably petty AF, but I don’t care if TFG ends up confined to home arrest, as long as he has to wear a prison jumpsuit & ankle monitor, is not allowed to wear makeup, and ESPECIALLY isn’t allowed any hair styling tools or hairspray. And has to be photographed that way from all angles.

An orange jumpsuit (tailored of course!) might be very flattering for Trump's rotund figure. And the orange color might give him that orange "glow of health" he craves, in the absence of his usual fake tan stuff. 😃

Speaking of rich people, our neighbors (not the friendly ones) had this very cool patio furniture set -- a glass table with four wicker-like chairs and footstools, all with cushions, that stow neatly under the table, with a canvas cover to put over all. But one of the footstools lost a piece! Oh, no, what to do? Get rid of it and get a new one, obviously!

So last night we sat on the deck in the twilight and ate dinner at our snazzy new table. One person's trash etc., I guess.

I was watching one of those "fiscal conservative hard liners" on Meet the Press earlier. I was surprised when Kristin Welker didn't ask Tim Burchette (R-idiculous), why if he was so concerned about the fact that we're taking in $5 trillion, and spending $7 trillion, why don't we raise taxes? Sure, we could cut spending, but why don't Republicans EVER cut spending when they're in office? Because the three largest drivers of the debt are defense, SS, and Medicare. If Republicans want to cut those 3 programs, they should do it when THEY are in power.
