This owes a bit more to I Am Legend (the book, not the movie) than I might have expected.
There were 2 versions of the movie
Charleton Heston's and Will Smith's. I'm not sure if there is also a more recent remake.
None that I know of. Though I think there's an even older version with Vincent Price.
Smith's has something more resembling the book's ending, but only as an optional ending on DVDs.
The Price one is called Last Man on Earth. Price is REALLY GOOD in it. The movie's kinda "eh," but he's terrific!
The Movie was decent.
