I'm sick of fundraising texts. My advice is do not donate to Dems unless you want several texts a day. "Stop2End" does not work.

(OK, now tell me how I need to pony up the dough anyway. )

Let's hope that Churchill was right, and that Americans will do the right thing, after they have exhausted all other options.

We tried "running the government like a business". We even gave the carnival-barking, casino-bankrupting real estate heir a second crack at it. But it turns out you cannot take the United States government into bankruptcy court, so he is fresh of business ideas.

We need a Renew America Deal. We need to plant seeds that will grow from the ground up rather than ever again praying for rain from some trickle-down hocum.

It's going to take radical ideas like making sure people have food, shelter and health care. And that we don't foul the environment for quarterly profits. And that we put people first and destroy legal fictions like "corporations are people" and "money is speech".

We need good ideas and cost-effective work programs that help heal the land and improve cities and towns.

This is all going to cost a lot of money, and we are going to pay for it by making multu-millionaires and billionaires pay.

The Bulwark's coverage of the Paxston leak (they brought up this stat for context) has been brutal.

Either the Republican Donor class doesn't want him to win, or they don't want him to win *and* they are willing to leak that audio.

But why not condense everything down to the first 15 seconds of James Gang alumnus Joe Walsh's immortal political analysis of Nixonian policy back in 1973?

FactPost, a bsky account run by Democrats.org is encouraging people to read Trump's interview. You'd think that would be a good strategy because everyone can see that he's completely batshit and paranoid, but it didn't work for Harris when she encouraged people to watch Trump's speeches.

If he'd starting into a rant on Purity Of Vital Bodily Essence, he would have seemed more cogent.

OT the second shot of the shingles vaccine has really hit me hard, I'm hoping the tylenol I took fifteen minutes ago does something to help. I don't recall having a vaccine really hit me this hard before but I guess that's the first shot of the series doing its thing.

R. Riddle's avatar

The shingles vaccine impacted me the same way. I think I slept all day after having the second one.

I was just reading about the side effects and it was basically a list of what ails me. None of the serious ones. It did refer to me as a 'young person' so that was a treat!

swmnguy's avatar

Hey, your immune system works. That's good. Not fun, as I don't need to tell you. But good.

Suzie Greenburg's avatar

Totally.

I'm just a wimpy baby when I feel unwell! But I'm about a half hour past when I took the tylenol and it's def taking the edge off.

swmnguy's avatar

Good.

I'm enduring a low-back nerve impingement, and I'm finding that about all that helps is a couple of Tylenol. I've gotten muscle relaxants, which are great for feeling dopey and stupid (but not "high") while in pain. And I could find opiates, if that were what I wanted. But 1000mg of acetaminophen seems to knock the pain down to a dull roar that I can function with.

Take it easy today, and rejoice that you won't have a bad case of shingles to deal with.

Suzie Greenburg's avatar

I have lower back issues and the muscle relaxers are good for that “as needed,” which is rare, but I learned to stay away from serious painkillers because the pain is what keeps me from doing stupid things that hurt my back more in the long run. My go-to is Alleve for my back but the headache-y part of the side effects made me choose the Tylenol. Sometimes I just need it dulled down from a roar, and OTC stuff has helped me a lot with that.

Here's a partial fact check for Trump's Time interview. I would not call it complete.
