So, by this time tomorrow will he still be out of jail? Do we have odds?

He'll be out of jail. His attorneys will have ONE more chance to shut him up.

And then one more chance and then one more chance

Cause this one is for "threats"

The next one will be for like doxxing or something

When do you suggest we surrender?

I am amazed at the general tone of defeatism and despair here and elsewhere.

William Safire, Agnew's speechwriter, called such folks "Nattering Nabobs of Negativism".

This was hilarious, even though Safire was a dreadful right-winger and Agnew both a dreadful right winger AND a straight-up crook.

However, there is one thing that's common to all of these complaints: the internet. My hope is that Donnie Dipshit is banned, and his attorneys get that message.

Our real problem is that, having been mostly underwater until (geologically) relatively recently, most of our soil is sand over clay over rock

So the trees are pretty much not anchored all that great.

Side note: Makes for easy digging. You know if you hit clay ain't no people living there.

Had brunch with my fellow lawyer friend J on Saturday. We both agreed that while the country has collectively gone to shit, this is an excellent time for legal nerds to be alive.

We are so lucky to have so many lawyers here!

It would be cool if some of them used their Substack

GURRL. I’ve started writing more Legal Story Times, and cross-posting to Notes. Posted one just last night about Protective Orders.

I do need to figure out how to actually have my own Substack, but my brain doesn’t fully function when it’s so hot out.

Agree. I created a Substack, but mow I'm going to have get somewhat familiar on how to use it fast.

I'm going to try to use it for my great reveal soon.

Great reveal expected this weekend.

Please, please , pretty please this weekend. I don't want any more delays.

NB: Awaiting in great anticipation!

I'm looking at these substacks as such an gift,

to have this ability to write like this....with a built in audience

No need to do it all at once, I just think your ideas and thoughts are ready

for a bigger pond and this is it.

Thanks! I guess I need to figure out how to best use the different options. I find chat a bit overwhelming, but I’m ok with Notes and Comments.

Posting to my own Substack might be useful for Legal Story Times and other, longer posts, but I’m not entirely sure how that works.

Thanks. I'm going to be trying this soon.

What Donald Trump needs is a swift kick in the entitlement followed by a few days off the golf course and in a cell, to teach him that he's just like the rest of us and needs to shut the fuck up and stop threatening people.

It is a (much needed) rainy "Bailiff Whack His Pee-Pee" Monday here on the gold coast of Connecticut. I expect all the judges will toss all of the Donnie motions out like yesterday's trash. This isn't state court, dipshit, and these aren't hack attorneys from Queens.

There is a certain unnerving steely quality to Mr Smith. And Ms Willis doesn't take any shit, either.

Expand full comment

Insulting DC appears to be an actual strategy, directed rather than random assholery. Get all the people in DC mad at you, then claim you can’t get a fair trial there because they’re all mad at you.

Then the judge HAS to let him move the trial to WV, right?

Somehow I feel this legal strategy will work as well as all the other legal strategies.

It's what he does with judges, too.

UGH!

Having a major problem with Substack on my Android phone.

If I open someone's substack to see a photo and then click to embiggen my phone freezes. Nothing works. At that point all I can do on the phone is see that picture. Nothing else.

I have to physically turn off the phone then back on to restore phone functionality.

Doesn't happen on the laptop.

Just the phone.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

The major problem is your Android phone, or any kind, for that matter.

Are you using the app? I found it to be shit. No, I'm not using the app because I've see comments from others about the app that say same message about it.

If I'm using the phone and want to see someone's posted images, I am going to have to copy the link, email it to myself, and use the computer some other time.

Could you skip the photos until you get toa computer and then just check out their notes?
