Just got a "tax refund" check from GA. I didn't pay any taxes in 2022. Despite no income (disability didn't get approved until end of year). I was lucky enough to be well housed and fed since I was caregiving for my 83 year old father with dementia. But too many others aren't.
So, I'm donating that "refund" to a charity for homeless in GA, as soon as I get a good reference. In other words, what GA should be doing with those dollars IMO.
Ali Velshi, good MSNBC video, on gender-affirming care
"There’s a lot of misinformation about what gender-affirming care actually is. Make no mistake - it’s considered necessary, life-saving medical care by every major medical and mental health organization. More than half of trans youth have seriously considered ending their lives. And according to a study by the American Medical Association, that number decreases by 73% when those kids receive gender affirming care. A 73% decrease in suicidal ideation is an astounding outcome. No drug or antidepressant even comes close to having that kind of impact. Gender-affirming care saves lives.
There is a paradox in physics that, if you maintain the center of mass correctly you can stack bricks in a way that all of the top brick is beyond the end of the bottom brick. Thomas, Scalia and Roberts all are or were working on this principle. Each argumentative brick is properly placed on top of the previous, so all bricks are approved, even though the top brick is way beyond the bottom one.
I read he's had this weird swelling for years, so I guess it doesn't signify an illness or condition or there is no cure. A measured plan to eliminate the monarchy seems like it might make sense. However, had the crown skipped to William, I think it would be another story. But, apparently, since Edward VIII, abdication is a third rail so no way Charles would have done it.
I wonder though if this off-with-Charles's-head is a way for Brits to distract themselves about Brexit. Stupid racists and the greedy gullibles allowed themselves to be goaded into voting for this abject disaster. And the Tories are, as always, a disaster for a civil society. Lots of whinging about Labor too.
The Scots have their problems; they aren't pure as the driven snow. But if they leave, which they may, Britain could shrivel up like a raisin. As for Northern Ireland -- let's not talk about it and ruin the rest of the day. Wales? I don't know a blasted thing about Wales. It just seems to sit there being studiously green.
I know only what I've been told about the good done by the Commonwealth of Nations, but if I educated myself a little about it I might not think so. Anyway, we'll see if Old Chubby Fingers keeps his throne in the foreseeable future.

I tried to click on a broken link from that tweet, and it's an oops dropped ice cream cone. You're doing great, Elon!

I bet it was one of those million dollar rvs, with the awning, small car garage, and expanding walls.

Double Zero! You lose.

It’s a shit survey. No way democrats trust abc and nbc more than msnbc.
The stacked brick solution involves a divergent series, meaning the thing can extend from the first brick out to infinity.

Try chili sauce instead of the BBQ sauce
Us moms can be scary, especially when our elected representatives are actively encouraging people to kill our kids. Fuck you, buddy. You have no idea.
