Great pix yet it seems we have lost . Unless we vote very hard blue , yet with dems saying Biden , should drop out . The democratic is split . Which leads to no democracy with trump win . So to all the dems stop the bs , If you won't vote for freedom and democracy you are not a democrat . Your choice for you and future , your kids , grand kids , the states , and other countries . great post and pics
I parked out back of Costco, at an angle to be out of the sun, to eat my healthful Costco fast foods. And as I was finishing, a car pulled right next to me ... oh that's a cop ... okay security. 'I'm sorry but we can't have people parked back here. It's a security concern.' I fumbled out 'Oh sorry. Yes ma'am' or some such. And we both pulled away.
Now I have no objection to security. As long as they're reasonable and polite, they're "right." (My Navy training will never fade away, methinks.
I describe this to point out that ... I'm still thinking about it, 40 minutes later. Not out of concern or irritation, but because I hope didn't do anything wrong/make this 'little nothing' worse. (I don't think so.) Aaaand ... this is why the great FOOOUUNDERS fucked up. Because they thought people would all have a bit of me in them. ... L.O.L. (I'll start charging my plug-in hybrid after 8 pm, when the AC demand has died down.)
This is great post, well put. Also, military background is not a bad thing, my Dad was USMC and it kicks right in when dealing with authority figures. Hope you have a better rest of your day :)
Aside: My youngest daughter's name is Amelia, and my first thought was ... OMG I hope she doesn't know what I post under! Semper ... um ... discipline and responsibility. ... Us Navy grunts can't do the Fi thing. ;-)
Haha! Nope, olds here, 59, Dad was born in 1922 and an FDR Democrat. I get the Fi thing :) Is your daughter named after a relative? There aren't a lot of Amelias around
We just picked interesting first names for our kids, avoiding the "top 50," and then gave them more common middle names in case they preferred it. But our Amelia has turned out to be adventurous and successful, so we're pretty happy. It only just struck me recently, however, that I was 40 when she was born. So I'm a retired dad, about to go to her wedding.
That's because if they ever bicycle their way into any real shit, they'll get their asses kicked white they're trying to disentangle themselves from their bikes.
It says a lot about American policing that their respect is built so exclusively on their readiness to be violent.
Fucking amateurs. No real journalist ever turns down a freebie. You grab a plate and hit the free buffet even if you're not hungry, and make it s point to grab the priciest noshes. You get the swag even if it's shit, at least it'll be good for a laugh. You take your free booze even if you're just gonna gesture with the thing, then pour it into a plant and demand another.
It's a matter of principle. If these assholes are gonna force you to sit through their boring, atavistic bullshit, you make them pay as much as possible for the privilege.
At Dead shows, the Krishnas were always in the parking lot. I sought them out because I liked their food. I never gave them a dime, never let them chat me up, never agreed when they asked me to help. Research shows that the principle of reciprocity is effective in the general sense, but I think some of us are immune. To me, if you say it's free, then it's free.
same here. When I was an intern, my chief resident told me sottovoce that he didn't mind eating the food from the drug rep, he just didn't like talking to them. As a med student, intern and resident we never turned down free food because, why? Wasn't sleep deprivation enough?
I'm looking forward to a final evaluation of your trip!
I've only lived in Milwaukee for a little over two years, so I'm still firmly in my "Zeal of the Convert" era, but I love singing the praises of my new home to anyone who will listen.
Looking at the photos, I’m a little concerned about the people I see in long sleeves, layers, thick fabrics, etc. The NC heat and humidity are nothing nothing to take lightly, especially with all that pavement in the mix. You Wonkettes from cooler states be careful.
« Fuck you is why. » That will now be my go-to rationale for everything.
I try to remind myself regularly that I don't actually need a reason to want or do or not want or not do something.
Thank you! I needed these pix. And hell yes, take their water and caviar and f them right off.

i just got a robocall from the "dept of education" to tell how to keep my SON from being educated.
we have one kid. she is 32.
screw repugs.
We keep getting AI robocalls at my work, training us off of it. Very "Invasion of the Bodyy Snatchers," ugh
As an American I could never take cops on bicycles seriously.
Great to see such a large __and peaceful__ protest of the GOP.
We take them seriously in Portland. Or at least anyone doing fentanyl or the like downtown should be taking them seriously. https://www.instagram.com/ppbcentralbikesquad/

It works often enough for the drug reps to consider it worth the investment.

I just noticed the watermark; that's a nice logo.
thank you, Rebecca and Dominic!
this is the kind of stuff that makes Wonkette Wonkette.
I have nothing but awe & respect for a website that comes right out & says F you rather than insult my intelligence. ❤️ 🫶
Oh yeah? Well Pervert Justice says FUCK YOU for not giving $1 Million per month! So there!
Let me find my checkbook.
Taps toe, frowns.
Great pictures of Freedom and Democracy.

Beautiful protests and protestors.
Thank you for the pictures!
Ha. That "bike gang" of cops look like little kids with their short pants and all.
