I knew Bhopal was an industrial accident. I remember very well when it happened and how many compared it to the consequences of a meltdown. I just didn’t point that out because I thought readers here were savvy enough to understand it. Apparently, I was mistaken.
I fully admit that I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about with timestamps, but I live in the People’s Republic of Portland, Oregon. It’s to the west, but not that far west. I have my official liberal card and recycling box and everything.
I’d rather not talk that much about what I do, but, since the 90s, I’ve probably read (and comprehended) over 100,000 documents pertaining to energy or environmental science. (I can hardly believe it either, but the math works out.) Most of them were written by people with a bunch of capital letters after their names. Some of the pieces were later published in scholarly journals and trade magazines.
I could ask you if you have ties to the energy industry, but, really, in the words of Frank Zappa: who gives a fuck?
Congratulations on reading less than one article a day. Yes, we can do very very basic math also. Also, I can use a spork!
I give a fuck because coal-licking you are advocating -- hopefully for money because no one should do this toxic garbage for free -- is contributing significantly to global climate change.
I care now for the same reason I so strongly supported Gore, Obama, and HRC: I oppose the collapse of the global ecosystems.
A few years back, we drove out to Phoenix, then up to Yellowstone. In the entire trip, the only state that left me with a bad taste in my mouth was Wyoming. Beyond Yellowstone, not impressed.
Wyoming will be fine with less and less coal mining and burning. The developing alternatives offer as many ,if not more as time progresses, economic opportunities as coal for the citizens. The population of Wyoming won't be adversely affected by less coal mining and burning. The group that will be affected and complaining loudly is the politicians who have wallowed their whole careers at the dirty coal money trough. The supply may run dry though, finally. Wandering zombie coal junkies roaming the halls of the Wyoming legislature. What's Woody Harrelson doing these days I wonder?
Commerce Clause. Many ins and outs in the Commerce Clause. But this looks unconstitutional from a few angles. Also too when a state sues another state the case goes to SCOTUS from the get go. Much lawyer moneys to do that.
She said in high dungeon, her toilet brush held aloft as the sun set behind the green, rolling hills.
There shalt always be a Harrisburg!
Addendum:
Look. You’re supply-side oriented, I’m demand-side oriented. We obviously both know something about the industry. We just disagree.
How about we call a truce and leave it there? We’re wasting a lot of time and energy, ahem, that could be better focused on making fun of Republicans.
You obviously do not know chicken shit about the industry because you thought the Bhopal disaster was a energy producing facility.
You have not shown the level of knowledge in this discussion that is generally required to use a spork.
You are a otherwise ignorant troll seeking to increase liberal division.
Love your timestamps. Enjoy your long Russian winter.

I’m done here. Later.

Good point, and if it’s squeezed even longer, it becomes a diamond, which is proof that it’s good.
I don’t and never have endorsed using coal. It’s a terrible, terrible fuel.
However, this conversation has concluded, and you are blocked.
Those weren't powerplants. That's like banning steel scissors because steel swords kill people.
Hey, Billy Bob's great-grandpaw died of black lung and so will he, it's family tradition!
Did you think you were going to win an argument by threatening me with .... arithmetic?

They're taking our jerbs!
And it all looks so nice from a distance. Digging down isn't as disruptive to the vistas as stripping the mountains to the ground.

Thank you. I was very much in agreement and also confused.
