Dr. Potter is made of awesome and statistics. the part that TMA and THA had the biggest problem with was the "life and health of the mother" section. while the "health" section is very specific--the developing baby must threaten to break your pelvic bones or otherwise cause paraplegia--the "life" section is very unspecific only saying that mental health does not count UNLESS you say you're going to kill yourself. TMA and THA worried that their members would be open to lawsuits for performing very much needed abortions in certain circumstances unless the mother was literally about to die--in which case, the abortion would not help AT ALL.

Yay, the baby killers on the left can try to murder more babies. Well maybe the people need to carry out some justice

Justice Thomas Had this to say

As the Court applies whatever standard itlikes to any given case, nothing but empty words separatesour constitutional decisions from judicial fiat.

Today’s decision will prompt some to claim victory, justas it will stiffen opponents’ will to object. But the entireNation has lost something essential. The majority’s embraceof a jurisprudence of rights-specific exceptions andbalancing tests is “a regrettable concession of defeat—anacknowledgement that we have passed the point where‘law,’ properly speaking, has any further application.”Scalia, The Rule of Law as a Law of Rules, 56 U. Chi.L. Rev. 1175, 1182 (1989). I

"How can the Court possibly escape this painfully obvious conclusion."

There's ol' Sammy, faithfully upholding the teabagger tradition of constructing a sentence that ostensibly asks a question, but ends with a period. Makes me wonder if he wrote his dissent in all caps.

And this guy is on the Supreme Court. The implications here are not encouraging...

"A law either infringes a constitutional right, or not; there is no room for the judiciary to invent tolerable degrees of encroachment."

SoThomas is cool with someone yelling "fire!" In a movie theater? Interesting.

Forgive me I just get attacked constantly by women who just flat out do not trust me and have dealt with a lot of Paranoia about my supposed lack of feminism and EVERY WORD I use is over analyzed and the sentiments like they're prying it apart to LOOK for something to prove that I'm a Sexist and I just do not communicate with that degree of carefulness. I've got Aspergers. That kind of Tact is exceedingly difficult for me.

all that I know is supporting Jane's due was something I felt was Concretely feminist. I got tired of just writing about how I felt about women and women's issues on Experience project and how I hated the gender binary and all kinds of silly topics while avoiding any real action other than rhetoric.

I don't want to be a Rhetorical Feminist.

I want to actually be a feminist. Donating to Jane's due was Concrete action.

It meant there was something more to my feminism than words.
